Saw him at the prospect game and he's noticeable because of his height, but he's more of a lanky guy. Didn't seem all that special but then neither did Chychrun.

With Tryamkin looking like he'll settle in to be a regular NHLer, I'm thinking the Canucks need more than just size. They should be trying to find someone who has the potential to bring the whole package and be that true #1 guy. Size of 6'3" or more, 220+lbs, good skater, good defensive instincts, bit of a mean streak, and a really good shot. Thinking more along the lines of Shea Weber rather than Chara.

If they're not drafting top 3, spend those 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks on these type of guys. Maybe Chychrun, Day and whoever best projects to fit that profile in the 3rd round. Hope they get lucky and one or two of them develops into what they need.

I think JB will pick a gem either way, the guy knows what he is doing on draft day. Sean Day seems to be a character flaw more than missing the tools, he's got quite a story and I wonder if he can shake it off. Again I'm pretty confident JB has a lot of scouts looking at d-men, hopefully there are a few picked.

Yeah Day went from a top 10 pick a couple years ago to ranked in the third round. If we get him the third or fourth I have no problem. For me Im hoping:

1. Best Player
2. Dman
3, Dman
4. Ty Ronning
5. Dman
6 and 7 - Some JB magic Tate Olson type pick

*checks in and sees too many uneducated posts*

I'll be back when VANTEL is ready to move on from the first round and begin informing us of the best second round players and which coach is best to fix that damn PP and defense

The last time one of his NHL teams made the playoffs was 2003-2004. The last time he won a playoff round was 2002-2003. He won the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 1995-96 and made the conference finals the following year. Since then his teams only made it past the first round once and he missed the post-season his last 5 years straight with 3 different teams.

I think the league has changed too much since his style of coaching was successful and I'm skeptical that he would be a good risk given where the Canucks are at.

Logan Stanley is 6'7" or is it 6'8" or 6'6 3/4". Idk but thats pretty big as well.
- thundachunk

How many good players are there in the league that are 6'4" or taller? All defencemen.

Just finished four hours of yard work with Mrs. Lefty, planted a new Sam Cherry tree and some tomatoe plants among other things, I came in and opened a bottle of Red Wine (Black Cellar Shiraz)...she's says "its 5:15pm, isn't it too early to drink"

After all these years together they still come up with the strangest poop you can imagine, I drink when it's time/

The lottery doesn't affect the 2nd round correct? Like Leafs will have 31, Van 33? Doesn't matter who wins the 1 2 3?

Correcto. We get the higher of ours and NYI, which means ours. Yeat another pretty nice pick. Top-5, 33rd and 63. Not bad at all! Trade miller for another 2nd rounder and we are in business

Oh okay. That's kinda nice then, I'm not even sure how it works for playoff teams I thought they changed that again too. Pens pick could be anywhere from 20 to 30 I'd assume

Draft takes forever to come along (frank).. trust me. Im excited for this years more than any recently. So many picks. I've been playing the waiting game every year.. playoffs help it pass for a bit tho it's the same conversations everyday on the threads tho til the draft. It's fun though I guess

Does it? I saw a chart the other day that said otherwise. It could have been for something else though

Yes it does, last year, as an example, Buffalo was last, then Arizona then Edmonton, the Oilers won the lottery.

Second round Sabres picked first, Coyotes second and Oilers third.
