No, because I was rooting for them to make the playoffs, and now I'm rooting for them to win.
And they're not. It's (frank)ing poop.
In fact, it's embarrassing. It's effortless for the Caps. They flick a shot from the point and it goes in. We flick a shot from the point and fan. Or it hits shin pads 35 feet in front of Holtby. Or it goes right into his crest.
Let's take a quick, 1 question quiz. It's a K type question. They'll be all over the exam I'm gonna bomb on Monday.
The Flyers enter the offensive zone. Within seconds, ____________________.
I. They shoot it wide right away and give the Caps a free out
II. They carry it around the net, get it to the point, and the shot gets blocked/tipped, giving the Caps a free out
III. They shoot it right into Holtby's chest with no one in front
IV. They move the puck around maybe twice then shoot from a bad angle
a. I and III
b. II and IV
c. I, II, and III
d. IV only
e. I, II, III, and IV
If you answered (e), you win the (frank)ing prize.
The powerplay is 0/49 or whatever. Holtby saw an unscreened point shot on a 5 on (frank)ing 3. They never make the Caps hold their breath. The 40 shots might as well have been 4. The referees are hilarious and so is the Flyers PK which mixes like vodka and motor oil. The Caps are taking runs at our guys and nobody (frank)ing cares. They're far from in this series. Unless they miraculously band together and turn those 40 shots into actual quality chances for the next 2 games, forget it.
Losing is garbage. (frank) "I'm just happy to get in". They're in and I want to them win and/or not get pounded on. (frank) this. (frank) Holtby. (frank) Ovechkin. (frank) Tom Wilson. (frank) Don Cherry. (frank) the sissy "oh well they're ahead of schedule in the rebuild :D" bullpoop.
Time to turn it the (frank) around and win. I'm looking at you, G. - Giroux_Is_God
well here is the thing, there is a reason why the capitals finished with 120, or whatever the hell they had, points. I want the Flyers to win badly like we all do but I am realistic. I just didn't and still don't expect them to win 4 games.

Hot take: I think the Flyers win both home games - PhillySportsGuy
Listen...they could. They just need a bounce or 2 in the first and suddenly it's different game. Home matchups are a real thing.
I will say if they even up the series, the Caps should watch out.
I'm not giving up. I'm very frustrated though. If you couldn't tell. |

Many posts have been dedicated to the Flyers not being physical enough or getting outmuscled...is this really the case? THAT is why they're losing? Flyers are a physical team, and I don't think Chimera and Orpik are turning this series. That's on guys like Backstrom and Kuzy.
The d corps will change. That's fine. But I just see a pathetic lack of skill throughout the lineup outside a few players. This team needs more game breaking talent. If we trade up or something, it needs to be for that. Not hits. |

They really didn't even play that poorly. Done in by special teams and goaltending. Outplayed the Caps for much of the game. - PhillySportsGuy
This is the more nuanced take on the game. Score does not reflect the play. But (frank) nuance
Got blown out, dominated, blow the core up. This offseason I want to see the core go up like the bus at the end of Speed. |

I don't think anyone is saying that is why they are losing, however, they are being man handled a bit. that does play a role and that does wear down your players. |

Clarification: I'm not of the "omg we need size" crowd.
I just don't like how they're getting ragdolled out there. Do we need a goon rolled out to punch someone in the playoffs? (frank) no. But after the whistle get in peoples' faces. Shove some guys. Let em know you're there, ya know? It makes a difference. At least then you're getting into it, and not just watching Cousins get destroyed by Richards.
Physicality along the boards and trench battles are a strength of this team. But that's different than the physicality I'd like to see more of. I think we'll see more of it in front of the home crowd. |

I just think they're too good of a team to get swept. I don't think the Caps are better than them by as wide of a margin as others. The Caps had 2 power play shots and both went in. Flyers created a ton of chances and nothing went in. The goal Mason allowed won't ever happen again.
Like you said, they just need a bounce and it will go a long way. |

Flyers are playing with Cousins and Gagner on the second line and MacDonald and Schultz in the top 4, but it's the top line that's holding us back |

I had the Canadian telecast on my link and they mentioned some crazy stat to the effect that the Caps had lost 4 out of the last 6 playoffs series they had gone up 2-0 in.
So you're saying there's a chance? |

Being dominant on special teams allows them to take liberties. If things were reversed, and the Flyers were scoring on their PPs and killing Caps' penalties, we'd be talking about how undisciplined the Caps have been. |

Idk in both games the hit totals were pretty tit for tat. I think the Flyers thrive at physical forechecking. Craps have a lot more guys who go for predatory hits, but that's being dumb and dangerous in my book. Not physical. I just don't see the physical mismatch portrayed. I mean the smallest line (the Cousins line) wrecked the Caps in both games from a possession standpoint. |

that's what I keep saying. the top line is being smothered and when you have no secondary scoring the end results will be 1 goal in 2 games. this is they the Flyers had the 7th best record in the east opposed to the record of the real contenders....lack of depth. you get away with that in the regular season but come playoff time not so much
UGH and they show the Nystrom OT goal on the NBCSN telecast.....stab me in the heart |

Not that I can count that goal as a goal per se but the guy did score 20 this year and has been a solid 4th line guy. As a matter of fact he is the kind of guy I want to see on a 4th line. |

I think PPL are over reacting. I mean the Flyers were playing good and had a lot of pressure on the Caps in 1st 2 periods. Flyers get into trouble in 3 Areas.
1) PP isnt scoring, they has some great chances tonight though
2) PK stinks. Caps have 3 PPG in 2 games so far. That is half the GA.
3) Penalties. With a PK that is this bad you cant afford to take penalties. Streit and Manning are killing the team so far due to their PIMS!
I think Flyers win next game at home. Flyers for whatever reason are a bad road team. |

How is it crap. They had over 40 shots on goal and have run into an extremely hot goaltender, nothing you can do about that. Do you just post to get a reaction because every time I see a post from you I want to scream? |
