Welcome back, don't you feel better now? - A_SteamingLombardi
I do. My body is just tingling from all the worries of everything that can and will go wrong because this franchise is run by a bumbling moron!!! Its a sensation that no drugs or alcohol can replicate... What a way to kickoff the weekend! |

I like JB. He is far from an idiot. I am still on the fence though. I said I was going to give the verdict in Mid July this year and I am sticking to it. After the draft, free agency and what he does with a few of our current roster players that need to be dealt with. |

Did sound stupid to you when you finally said it out loud? - thundachunk
You know, I went back and read what I originally posted and can't believe I had the kahonas to question the Swordsman and poor Vantel's scouting reports, the kids basically a superstar already. To me thats a piece of shame that will haunt me to my grave... |

In all seriousness, I like him and I like having him be the GM during this transition. Some have suggested he won't last very long, and I think thats possible. But I don't remember him or Trevor saying in his press conference that he was going to win the Stanley Cup. His goals have always been to remain competitive, get younger and draft/develop young talent and in my books he is succeeding. The turnover on the roster and influx of youth has been increased due to injuries but still done with youth that we expect big things from down the road, not just AHL journeyman. So I think he is doing what he said he would, we should see a new core in the next year or two that we can be excited about and it'll be his work thats done it |

well.....Ive been saying for awhile now laine to me is the best player in this draft IMO. Vantel also has wanted laine.
Funny though, Vantel and I were also both the only people who knew who tryamkin was the last 2 years. And he's clearly the real deal.
Maybe more should listen to us on talent assesment and not so much what scouts say.....case in point, as of today how would tryamkin NOT go in the 1st round instead of 3rd..... - SMBDragon
Maybe "you don't see it" Dragon, but your arrogance atrocious. Everyone has a right to their opinion but it's all speculation. Anything could happen at the draft but Matthews is going #1 no doubt about it. Even if the Oilers win it, I can't see them passing on him for the pure fact that centers are by far more coveted. You're digging yourself a huge hole with the way you express your opinions as fact. Grow up Peter Pan. |

He can throw in as many seconds as he wants, as long as he doesn't give up any of our 5th or 7th rounders in the deal. thats just bad asset management!!! - WhiteLie
Please don't bring up the 'Lack Fiasco', the anxiety attacks have finally gone away. |

All a moot point. No matter who wins the lottery, they will select Matthews. And to say that Laine is more exciting, I am not really sure how much of either you have actually seen....a game or two at the WJC?
Matthews projects out as Eichel +. Everywhere he followed him he put up better goal scoring stats and better overall stats. Teams can't build around wingers. They never have. The Canucks don't have anything at C OR the wings....the deal is that they would never pass up on a potential first line C in a case like this. Never. - Dollars2Donuts

I'm in a bubble room with puppies & kittens, The Carpenters are playing over the speakers and it smells like Dr. Pepper flavoured cotton-candy. |

point was that I said i thought laine was the best player of the 3 and got laughed at for it....now he's projected as the #1 .....
So for those that felt it was arrogant its just my laughing back at those who were quick to laugh 1st. Nothing more.
Perhaps it should have been worded as.....so dont be quick to make assumptions and laugh at stuff, it might come back on you and make YOU look bad - SMBDragon
Calm yo self bra.
He's been projected as going first by the same site that ranked McLeod at 3, Juolevi as the top ranked D and Chychrun at 10.
Grain of salt my friend. |

At least then there is no tampering and every team has a chance. I mean Edmonton or Toronto. |
