McCann and Demko? How? I mean I guess anything is possible. One is from San Diego, one is from Stratford. One is NCAA, one is OHL. One is Canadian and one is American. - Bieksa#3
They met at Canucks training camp a few years ago and hit it off, McCann has been down to San Diego to visit him. |

Benning needs to fix the backend, just atrocious if Hamhuis comes back I'll puke!!
I don't know if I believe the injuries side of it, who were the longest injuries to? Higgins (who's terrible) broken foot, Vrbata who was doing anything anyways, Hamhuis who was horrible the first 40 games, Sutter who definitely helps but is a fringe top six guy and Edler who I can legitimately say his loss made the team worse.
And yes, mid January the team was in a Wild Card position. But the season is 82 games, not 55 to 60. Unless your a Leaf fan - LeftCoaster
You just cant look at the losses as individual like that. It's definitely collective. Look who had to play big minutes on D to cover for these guys... that catches up later and then the hunt for fresh and less experienced replacements starts and that turns into another step back.
Horvat had horrible stats filling in for Sutter all season. Sutter looked like our best defensive forward the few games he was healthy and not on the Sedin line. Horvat wasnt ready. Funny thing is when they traded for Sutter, most people said we didnt need Sutter because Horvat was ready to take on 2nd line C role. Nope. Great experience and all... but the vet was definitely more capable.

So yesterday I was thinking to myself ( and vantel can back me up 100% on this). Why are the Canucks paying scouts when me and VANTEL knew that Tree would be a great player. He's already played 12 games he's shown to be a great asset. Vantel was messaging me earlier and he told me he would have gone in the first round this year if people knew what me and Vantel knew. Canucks should fire the canucks and hire Vantel and me. Right VANTEL? |

Collectively it speaks to the team's lack of depth to cover those positions. Having said that, the initial occupants of those positions does not equate to a playoff team, because those guys, outside of Sutter & Edler, were doing a piss poor job.
Having Sutter and Edler makes the team better, perhaps 15 points better, but that's an 88 point season....can you get in with that. A bubble team I guess, which is what most stated. |

Desjardins made a very good point also. Bo JV Hutton and McCann will all come back this year with one more year experience. |

Good goals , good points , good PIMs .
Actually next year Tanev will get 7 goals and 20 assists. He will be more involved next year. |
