He is an improvement over Tanev by a mile - VANTEL
Cant argue that if that trade happened id be pumped, Im just hoping for an offensive defenseman who can help QB the power play |

Let's not compare them just because of the size. Don't get me wrong, I hope they have Tryamkin watching a lot of Chara tape. He's still in the lineup next year, which is the bottom line. Not really sure what else to say about it: if he's in the lineup, the lineup is tougher. One of my favorite momnets of the season was Tree dropping Kesler like he was a child. In what way has he not already added toughness? - neem55
yes....that was great. And he's already made a name for himself in what 11 games...
I also liked the way he completely contained mcjesus last week too....absolute beast.
despite the position difference throw in some bert footage too...guy knew how to be a power player, hit and take over a series.
Id rather him watch tape on Pronger than chara. |

The entire D isn't going to be guys that are going to run around hitting people. Needs a group that does a bit of everything. |

That'll happen if you rush young players into the lineup or rely on them to play minutes that they aren't ready for as well. - CubanBuffet

please tell that to crosby, ovechkin, kane, toews. McDavid. Stamos. Tavares. alright i'll stop. - manvanfan
Im not sure if anyone other than mcjesus had rookie minutes on top line.
But even if they all did its rare.
My point was more towards all the posters on here who have a top line spot or even an nhl spot for a guy freshly drafted. Silly...
but hopefully these players can pull it off and become a star. |

What difference does it make if they can produce?
Rookies, regardless of the title, should be placed in a position to not only develop, but succeed, and the line order should not matter. - Codes1087
If they can then sure play them. Im talking about posters here....guys who automatically slot them in without any nhl experience.
If they show up at camp and do well they have nhl job....early on see what they can handle against nhl full grown men. |

Don't really care what he turns into so-long as he represents an excuse for Benning to ship off Sbisa. |

You are missing the point . Hamhuis and Vrbata cap space is 9.5 mil. Burrows and Higgins cap space is 3.6 if bought out. That is 13 .1 mil you are freeing up to improve your team and you come back with Burrows Hamhuis Larsen and Stecher.
I would fire my GM on the spot if that was his solution. - VANTEL
I think inserting second year defenseman with the second worst defensive metrics on your team into your top-4 is what should get you fired. You already know I don't want Burrows or Hamhuis back, so I don't really see what you're talking about. Or more specifically, why you're telling me especially since I've been one of the biggest proponents of buying out Burrows on this board. I completely agree about freeing up cap space, we need to bring in one or two defenseman on the right side, at least one that can play top 4 minutes. Defenseman need to be able to defend first.
