yeah I'm basically just saying, i feel like its harder for me to get so amped for flyers playoffs this year more than years past and I feel guilty about it.
- orangekrush2010

I was real amped this morning, now I'm at work staring at the clock. It's my second to last day before I move back to Philly and I just want to watch the game so it's possibly the slowest day in history. Maybe I'll start the lunch discussion today

I hope to see a few things from our playoffs:

1. Giroux to put his insane playoff pedigree on display
2. Schenn consistently play his physical game and put in goals
3. Most importantly, I want to see Couturier raise his offensive game even more to really show he can be a great 2C for the long haul.
4. I want to see that Ghost can handle the increased physicality in a playoff run.

I shudder to think what this team's record would be were the posters here responsible for the nightly lineups.

We get it.

Oh, and he had nothing to do with the loss last night.

- Scoob

I thought putting him back in after the eye injury was a terrible decision last night.
What were they thinking?

I agree. But he has a history of staying in when he shouldn't so maybe they leave it up to him.

I don't know if they have time to do it or not, but the Flyers ought to take this logo and get warm up jersey's with every one of them having "Snider" on the back and wear them for the home games!

Flyers are going to have to move the puck quickly in this series, and are going to need to score 3+ goals to win. I would certainly play Medvedev over Manning, his skill set is much better. Sure he turns the puck over, and is inconsistent at times, but so is Brandon Manning.

I disagree although Medvedev is a more skilled player , playoffs are a different game. Not because he's Russian he just players a different game, one that's probably not as effective in the playoffs. He looked awesome against the Islanders on Sunday but it was more of an exhibition game with no contact. Even Ghost who was unreal is not gonna have the time and space he had on Sunday. I remember the one game against Washinghton when Medvdev first got sat or injured there was some pressure on him and he threw it right in front to Washington and they scored. Have to trust Hakstol in all his decisions, he's putting lineup in that has beat chance of winning. Would be nice to have Delzotto back now and we would look really good but have to make do with what we have and don't think Medvedev makes us better.

Here's another thing to consider: Med has a ton of Russian PO and WC experience over the years... Manning hasn't played a PO game since 2011... in the Dub.

True, and I am a parent of now young adults. I don't treat them like they are still 5 years old. The Lindros elders were meddling control freaks. And he wasn't strong enough to break free of them.

Imho, of course. I don't actually know any of them.

It's hard for any of us to really know what went down behind closed doors, but all I know is that Big E did an awful lot for the Flyers. The only thing he couldn't manage was to win the cup, but I don't fault him for that. If anything, he was always one of their best players during their playoff runs. That's what pisses me off about the HHOF...everyone always talks about how many cups a player has won and that it's practically a prerequisite, when I personally believe being elected to the HHOF is more of an individual accomplishment.

Thought about him a lot, and I really loved his game, but I never liked him enough to buy a jersey of his, so I didn't include him.

I almost forgot 17. Both for Brindy and Simmer. Lots of magic in that number.

- Hextall271

I have a 37 and a 17 (Simmonds).

But 17 also has Berube and Holmgren...

And put AMac with Manning?
- YuenglingJagr

I'd put him with Streit, and Medvedev with Schultz.

Other than the game against the Islanders , I feel like the last 20 games have been like a playoff game, exspecialy the last game against Washington when no one expected us to win and we gritted it out for the W , and Medvedev wasn't playing .

but constantly calling the GM to female dog about everything including who Eric was playing with is a bit much. I blame the parents a lot and I blame the Flyers for not putting their foot down from the get go
- nastyflyergirl

I'm not sure how many times this occurred, but the media can definitely exaggerate things. Agents do call GMs to talk about players and I'm sure that was part of what his parents were doing, even though it may have been excessive. If I'm not mistaken Clarke called Lindros out for not playing through some pretty nasty stuff (collapsed lung), so it was partly on management too.

I don't deny the bold part. But his and his parents' attitude from the day he was drafted was pure crap and they were a constant behind-the-scenes headache his entire career. Yes, it was a two-way street, but as Trump said "they started it."
