Only 1 game. Flyers were competing and battling for a bit. Obviously need more offense and sustained attacks. Would like to see more hitting. Losing Couturier is rough. Streit and Voracek, to me, were the worst skaters tonight. Voracek needs to get bumped down to the 3rd unit. Would love Medvedev in and Streit out but that'll never happen. Streit is a step up from a traffic cone and his offense/decision making has not been even mediocre. Might want to consider bringing Morin up to handle some of those Capitals forwards that were able to keep the Flyers hemmed in their own zone since Couturier went down.
- Pixote Andolini

Were they competing? Be honest.

I don't call zero scoring chances the whole goddamn night "competing". I call that embarrassingly bad.

glad to see our great leader in giroux was so preoccupied with eating grilled cheese the last few days he forgot his job is to score

I thought they did a great job of slowing Washington down. They didn't let them have it easily.

Now if they can learn to play in the ozone, we'll have a series. If not, it's going to be like the series against Ottawa.

One thing. Socialism is the way of the future.

Not sure if Socialism is the way of the future, but Capitalism sure seemed to be in control tonight.

They really need morin to become an nhler. In any capacity I'll take
- Just5

I don't doubt Morin will have an impact when he's on the ice...and once he gets comfortable in the NHL, knows he can hang with the best of the best, watch out.

How do we know it works if it's never been used?

better to attack the problem than sit back and hope for a good thing to come.

Flyers kind of proved that tonight.

Someone said this earlier, get Ghost to the right boards/pt on the PP. Jake doesn't have it right now.

Either Streit or Medvedev in the center point position.

I think it's the only way to get PP#1 going right now.

The penalty on Streit in period two was ridiculous, as was the extra 2 minutes to Simmonds on the fight.

Damn shame about Couts, I think they had a fighting chance with him. Without him, well, they made it to playoffs this year which is ahead of schedule I guess.

Ghost had the yips tonight, understandable.

Mase was fabulous again.

Orpik is a real piece of poop.

Not the last hit so much as all the others... he spent most of the 3rd period 2 feet off the ice.
- Tomahawk

2 hits where I can't believe he wasn't called. Skates flying off the ice

I'm still waiting for the Flyers to get a legitimate scoring chance. Keep in mind they had 4 powerplays that game. Still waiting.

Tick (frank)ing tock.

Best chance was a slot shot by Read, harmlessly swallowed up by Holtby.

He was a -1, had 2 shots, and threw 1 hit. Not his best game.

it's so easy to say that, then you lose, and you break things, because losing is the worst (frank)ing thing in the world.

Hopefully Jake will wake up out of his funk soon. His blunders have had nothing to do with his foot. His problem can be found from the neck up.

Don't forget cheapshot Chimera.

I get Medvedev in as well as the Flyers aren't going to win any game with 0 goals and he definitely helps push the offense. And I'm in the camp that thinks he hasn't been given enough of an opportunity to adapt to NA hockey and learn the language, and a new coach, and a new team, etc. But I don't know who would sit. Manning, though he has no offensive threat, played a solid game, especially on the PK. And that delay penalty on him (the 1st goal) was pretty lame/bad luck.

It would help if he recognized that he has team mates on the ice, and that maybe one or two of them might be open for a pass.

they are playing a superior team
deep on D, 4 good lines and a great goalie
they still have a chance, but without Couts I just don't see it

Medvedev in Streit out. Gudas and Schultz with great games blocking shots like crazy and keeping the Caps from the front of the net. Streit doesn't do those things as well.
