Did anyone find out why Linden held his press meeting in the hallway and didn't join Benning and Dejardins at the table?

He's a better liar standing up.

Saying people on these threads need to talk is trolling..? If they didn't this site wouldn't exist what are you talking about

I have a question for you, why is Flames Management utterly inept at judging goalie talent, they couldn't find a goalie in a room full of goalies. 260 goals against is really sad. I'd post this in the flames thread but I doubt you're ever there.

I refuse to engage in conversation with the troll.
But my answer would be Burkie.
Seems he has a knack for it.

Since Kipper retired their goaltending has been horrid. Perhaps it's Burkie.

I'd say because they had decent goaltending last year and once the horrible goaltending started this year they were just waiting on one of the 3 to settle in and take the number one roll. But throughout the year it just never happened.

I'm sure they could have gotten a true number one in January-February but I have a theory they wanted to just toss this season away and tank and take care of it in the offseason.

So, looks like some of the top D prospects (including Sergachev and Bean) may end up being available in the 15 - 30 draft spots. Given how much the Canucks need to upgrade depth in this area they should probably take a run at some of the surplus first round picks floating around out there.

Boston holds San Jose's pick.
Carolina holds LA's pick.
Arizona holds NYR's pick.

What assets in addition to the Canucks' 2nd rounder would Benning likely have to part with to get another first rounder in that bottom half?

Granlund? Biega? Zalewski? Cassels? Subban? Columbus' 2nd from the Torts signing?

I think they have until 2017/2018 to give us a second round pick.

Yep. Apparently they have until June 1st to decide which of the next 3 years it will be. Once they do I presume it's an asset the Canucks can trade.

Sadly I dont think any of those players you mention in combination with a 2nd rounder would get a mid-first. Maybe the second and Torts second would but a team would have to not care when they get that extra second, which is unlikely as a mid-range team. I would like to see JB try, but I think it would be a tough sell with the assets they have

Not sure if this has been discussed on these boards yet. But signing Demko doesnt sound like its going to happen.

Atleast that's the feeling I get from Sports radio and reading stuff online.

Two things Vancouver has to be leery of are travel and taxes. Benning is not going to wait until year four like other GMs . I think if Demko hasn't signed by draft then Canucks may look at options. They are offering him a professional contract for next year, if he refuses then all bets are off.

Not 1040 info, and not panicking, just smart buisiness.

Exactly. I feel really good about next year and the teams future. I'll be damned if I will let a college 2 nd round prospect ruin things for me

Benning may be thinking that Boeser's value has peaked and is probably checking out Calgary's 4th liners to see who he can get for him.

If Emerson Etem wants to make this team next season, should switch him to LW. He's a Left shot anyways.

Believe it or not. We all become "That guy" from time to time.

I dont like being that guy, but I do allow him possess me from time to time.
