Good thing I'm drinking a fruit smoothie.. The puke in my mouth didn't taste so bad... - l3ig_l2ecl
i fully expect Desharnais to be re-signed when his contract is up. not for $3.5 million and not for 4 years, but he'll get a contract if he wants one. |

same concern i have. what happens with Price moving forward? is he the same goalie? even if he is, how can you count on this guy for a full season? does he re-sign? because anything less than Price at his best for 6 months... we now know what happens. - DoubleDown
so with that in mind, it would appear as though Bergevin's hands are tied. He'll have to look at a FA fix on offense as opposed to a trade for one |

I'm not a MB fan at all, disappointed he didn't grab Reimer when the opportunity was there. But now he can't burn what little assets they have on a top 6 until they are sure that Price will be able to resume a starting role. If the injury continues to hamper his play they'll need what little they have to replace Price. - Pie

I get that he was told Price was coming back soon, and that he didn't wanted to overpay for a goalie that he would have been stuck with after, not to mention the cap space spent on that.
I'm no doctor, but I'm surprised they could not tell that the rehab process would take that long. If they had told Bergevin at the time that Price was done for the season, he would have reacted differently that's for sure. - stinger67
i don't buy it, personally. Price was never anywhere close to returning. and this was especially true when Condon had completely fallen apart by mid January and couldn't stop a soccer ball. i think ultimately Bergevin knew that without all-world goaltending they were nothing and he played for the highest pick he could get. how many times has he stressed that the only way to get scoring is through high draft picks? |

my favourite part yesterday was Bergevin pointing to the 50 wins last year as justification for the status quo. i notice he left out the second round ass whupping in the playoffs despite Price playing at an MVP level. |

they have the most calamitous and embarrassing season in history and it was the power play consultant's fault.

Just took a look at the UFA crop and the only good fit IMO is Ladd.
Okposo would make us regret the 7M per year.
Stamkos would be g-... meh (frank) it 0 chance it happens.
Trade Pacioretty for a young forward and a young defenseman.
Sign Boedkker to replace him on the right wing.
That would be a start. |

Ils peuvent avoir le meilleur coach de powerplay au monde, si Plekanec s'entête à continuer de faire ses ti-crisses de lancers tapette pas d'angle dans le chess, ça changera pas grand chose. |

on the surface, yes. but remember, this is a GM who spends nearly $8 million on Lars Eller and Alexei Emelin. so personally, i would rather see him overpay for 1 good player than overpay for 2 mediocre players. |
