Does anyone have a visual assessment of how Lindblom has been playing in LV? Obviously the stat line looks good but I wonder about his usage and how he has looked on the smaller rink. - The_Journeyman
Confident kid. Swift puck mover. Willing puck battler. Amazing amazing instincts around the net to find the soft open spot for a pass. There was one play last night where had been in the offensive zone and he skated hard to a specific area of the slot to open himself up. He thinks the game and is a gem of a 5th round find |

Let's revisit 2008, only a scant one year removed from the season that can't be mentioned...
"It was a game that generally lacked structure and tactics, and thus was a joy to watch.
When it was over, however, there was no joy in the city of the burnt police car, only the wreckage of the Montreal Canadiens playoff campaign that just a few weeks ago seemed to hold the promise of a 25th Stanley Cup.
But against the Philadelphia Flyers, a team that finished dead last in the NHL a year ago and has managed to rebuild with astonishing speed, Les Habitants could not find convincing answers, losing a wildly entertaining Game 5 by a 6-4 score Saturday night and the series with surprising brevity, four games to one.
In the end, the Canadiens couldn’t keep the puck out of their net, couldn’t get top-notch goaltending from their freshman tandem and, perhaps above all, couldn’t stop Flyers winger R.J. Umberger, otherwise known as the Johan Franzen of the Eastern Conference.
Umberger scored two more goals last night, giving him eight goals in the series against Montreal after scoring just 13 times during the regular season.
But Umberger? He was barely listed as a factor coming in to this series, yet he scored a spectacular solo goal in the first Saturday night and helped the Flyers turned a 3-1 deficit in the second period into a 4-3 lead with a goal and an assist.
The game became even more helter-skelter from there, and it played into Philly’s hands, signaling a stunning end to a Montreal playoff season that once seemed so bright."
That series will forever endear RJ in my heart. While ready to see his time here come to an end, I remember the happier times. |

Capuano: Greiss will start, no Tavares, no Nielsen, no Okposo, no Boychuk. Martin, Clutterbuck in. Call-ups as well. Greiss won't finish gm. |

Why buy out Umberger this season when he has just one more to play? We are not going anywhere next season. And the seasons after that, when we perhaps could, why have the buyout money be a drag? |

4.6M cap hit this year vs two years of 1.5M cap hit, opens a roster spot, and no more RJ
I'd buy him out |

Count me on the side that would rather just keep him for his last year and avoid the buyout.
However, if the expansion draft rules end up saying that ALL players with NMC's must be protected, then a buyout of RJ makes sense to me. |

1.5 mil is pennies for a guy you have ZERO faith in playing. Plus the roster spot for and no move clause. |

Rangers fans in the TB thread justifying the hit and blaming Johnson.

Not that we'd ever see Flyers fans defending a goon. (Like the Sestito fans when he was here. Or the Carcillo lovers. Or the ....) |

No word on the lineup?
I'm assuming no callups or else we would have heard by now |

We may have different definitions of what "going anywhere" means, I guess |
