Some one said 95 pts would get you in the playoffs. Pretty damn close. Good job whoever said that

He did.

Have to give credit to Brayden as well. He was a huge part of the success this season.

I think career wise, that move that sent his brother out West may have been the best thing for him.

Also, I may despise him at times, but big credit to Varsity, and hell of a speech post the win last night. Giving all the credit to the players.

In a bit of a forgotten story, Mike Richards will be making a playoff return to Philadelphia.

Obviously want nothing but for his team to lose, but very curious to see what Richie has left in the tank. Should be fun for him.

Does anyone have a visual assessment of how Lindblom has been playing in LV? Obviously the stat line looks good but I wonder about his usage and how he has looked on the smaller rink.

I think they have about $ 4 mil after the LA trade under the cap. I would load up with Phantoms and rest everyone they can. These guys have been in the playoffs since the all star break. This is the last of 6 games in nine nights. They looked gassed this week. All three losses were because they got out worked. They don't have ant legs left. Today should be nappy time for the top six at least. Umby, Weal and Laughton, Medvedev in. NAK, Linblom, Leir, Morin and Sanhiem up. Maybe Alt and/or Hagg. Rest Ghost and the old guys on D

I would play Umberger. It's one thing to scratch a player for ineffective play, and I understand the business side and risk involved, but if he gets hurt in one game, then he gets hurt.

Nobody truly deserves anything in professional sports, but I haven't heard a peep out of him that was negative since he has been a Flyer. He hasn't played well, has been shut down and now scratched, but he has been professional.

Giving a guy what will likely be his last NHL game isn't the worst thing. Just my opinion

What are the details of a contract buyout? If they buy out Umberger, they pay him half his salary next year? And if they do, how much goes against the cap for that year?

No buyout, cap hit of 4.6M X 1 more season

Buy out, cap hit of 1.5M X 2 more seasons,

so they save 3M in cap next year, but costs an "extra" 1.5M to the cap in 2017-18 when he would be gone with no buy out

they will buy him out I believe

(some posters fear him suffering a career ending injury today, which would make the buy out a non option)

Question about Umberger: Can they ask him to waive his NMC and have it voided? Financially, he stands to make more not being bought out (doubt anyone would pick him up) and it would allow the Flyers an extra slot for the expansion draft. If not, buy him out.

Thanks Bill. Well, I guess that we were lucky that the big guns for the Pens were out; Cindy, Malkin, and the Flower. I hope that we can win at least one game against the Caps.
I'd rest our big guys tonight; G, V-check, Ghost, Mason, etc..
I don't think that we should worry about Umby, and I would let him play out of respect. I wouldn't play Razor, but I would consider playing Lyon just to get his feet wet, and since Bill mentioned the contract issue. Neuvy looked good on the bench the other night, but I would let him get some more practice before I would start him.
I worry about the fourth line of the NYI. They can get a little chippy at times, and I wish that someone would take a run at Clutterbutt; maybe call up CMcD or Rosehill to take care of him.
Looking at the playoffs, I would like to see the NYI play the Panthers, and enjoy watching the NYR, and Pens have at it. Hopefully, all those teams beat each other up, and the next team that they play finishes them off.
