Torn ligaments in his wrist. His timetable may allow a return in the Stanley Cup Finals but players have a way of "magically healing" early. So I'd say an ECF could be possible. Second round is a stretch, but remember how early Patrick Kane returned for Chicago last year. - bmeltzer
I'm no doctor, but the picture of his wrist post-operation makes me think he would be insane to rush back. If you (frank) up the ligaments in your wrist you could ruin your career. |

Full disclosure, I have been in small business for almost 20 years. So almost all of my way of thinking is based upon cost in relation to risk/reward. If Umby sustains a concussion, certainly the team is very vulnerable when he could be deemed healthy. I want to ensure the 3 million cap savings for the team over the next two seasons. I would rather bring up Colin McDonald or anyone on the Phantoms.
Of course, it is just my opinion, I fully expect the Flyers to dress Umby because usually what I think will happen goes in the complete opposite direction.
 - ravishingone
I don't think risk of injury really enters into the equation for these guys. Anyone can get hurt at any time. Umby could injure himself practicing. |

I see everyones point but I'm not worried about umby for one game mid April. What sort of injury would he sustain where he still is injured 4 months from now?
If we somehow make it to the ECF I'm certainly not dressing him then but one game today? Yeah, I really don't care. Let one of the regulars get a rest. - hereticpride
Well, the buyout period is in June, but I think the odds of him getting a 2 month injury in 10 minutes of ice time are low enough to risk it.
Umberger could also be playing in playoff games if there are a couple of injuries up front. |

Kind of a dumb question, but was this an acute thing for MDZ? I feel like one day he was fine, next he got season ending surgery. I don't even remember him leaving any game in distress...did I miss him having his wrist jammed or something? Maybe it was during one of the handful of games I couldn't see this season...?
Or was it a chronic wear and tear thing that he finally got fixed? |

Seemed like and I believe it is a commonly accepted assumption that he was playing injured and finally decided to get the surgery to fix the injury rather than play through the rest of the way. There may have been an actual event that made them decide that but it couldve just gotten too painful/less effective |

It happened during a game in the Jan Feb time frame. I'm sure there's a video clip of it. I seem to remember him around his own net, looked like he jammed it on the cross bar. He left the game immediately. |

He actually missed a few games with it in December, so it was bothering him for a while.
It might explain why his wrist shot from the top of the circle (which was lethal in 14-15) didn't make much of an appearance this season. |

Does anyone have a visual assessment of how Lindblom has been playing in LV? Obviously the stat line looks good but I wonder about his usage and how he has looked on the smaller rink. |

Wow, just saw the hit on Johnson. A cheap shot from a fantasy camp goon looking to make a name for himself. No place for that bullpoop. |

He's a threat to make something happen whenever he gets the puck in the OZ. Probably our best forward prospect after Konecny. |

It would have been perfectly acceptable, in my book, for Pallat to cross check his jaw ala Dave Brown on Thomas Erikson |

Not trying to say this to start anything, but man. The end of that Boston game was tough to watch even from a Flyers fan perspective. They just had nothing and the two empty netters were just embarrassing. Julien is a great coach but it's time for a change |

i like jagr and wish he was still on our team. - hammarby31
I live in South Fla now and have to stream the Flyers games. Saw both their games here as well as another 10 or so Panthers games. Flyers will remain my #1 team but the Cats are a good team with a nice mix of really good young players and vets. Jagr has been awesome. He lead the team in goals and points and still can't get knocked off the puck. I hope they roll all the way to the conference finals and fall short to the Flyers. Who then go on to beat the Kings for the cup.
Yeah, I know, but hell, we made the playoffs yesterday and who saw that coming in Feb??? |

you know there is an issue when one of their best players has said he doesnt want to re-sign and it was only half way through the season. |

In fairness. I watched it after the Flyers game. But it just felt pathetic. We barely made the post season but we clawed like hell to get in. This is a fun team to follow |

do they have enough cap space to call up a few skaters so they can rest more guys if need be? personally I would like to see Schultz and Streit rest. Schultz is 33 and has played in 80 games. call up Morin or Alt - nastyflyergirl
I think they have about $ 4 mil after the LA trade under the cap. I would load up with Phantoms and rest everyone they can. These guys have been in the playoffs since the all star break. This is the last of 6 games in nine nights. They looked gassed this week. All three losses were because they got out worked. They don't have ant legs left. Today should be nappy time for the top six at least. Umby, Weal and Laughton, Medvedev in. NAK, Linblom, Leir, Morin and Sanhiem up. Maybe Alt and/or Hagg. Rest Ghost and the old guys on D

Please do everyone a favor, try and hang in for five games and soften up the caps thanks. |
