I don't care if it is the Zamboni driver who dresses for the Flyers tonight. There is ZERO reason to start Mason.

PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Please either beat them in regulation or hold them to a point. Thanks.

Sorry. I can't see us getting any points today. Not starting our top lineup

On another note, I'm sad that no leafs trolls dropped by to offer congrats on us making the playoffs. They've accomplished their lofty goal of finishing 30th. Only prob is edm will win the lottery again. Must be a joy cheering for that team haha

Might as well. The game means absolutely nothing. Mason shouldn't even dress tbh.

If I intended to buy out Umberger, there's no way I'd play him tonight & risk so much as a cut face from a high stick

he shouldn't even go on the trip. just put him in a hyperbaric chamber for 2 days and leave him alone.

I would be surprised if Umby plays. With the uncertainity of the parameters of the expansion draft, it is in Hexy's best interest to buy out Umby this summer. No need to risk screwing the plan up for essentially him playing in an exhibition game.

I see everyones point but I'm not worried about umby for one game mid April. What sort of injury would he sustain where he still is injured 4 months from now?

If we somehow make it to the ECF I'm certainly not dressing him then but one game today? Yeah, I really don't care. Let one of the regulars get a rest.

do they have enough cap space to call up a few skaters so they can rest more guys if need be? personally I would like to see Schultz and Streit rest. Schultz is 33 and has played in 80 games. call up Morin or Alt

I think everyone needs to remember it's not just Mase that played a grueling schedule down the stretch. A vet like Read could probably use the day off too. If Umby is the one to be the substitution then so be it.

Full disclosure, I have been in small business for almost 20 years. So almost all of my way of thinking is based upon cost in relation to risk/reward. If Umby sustains a concussion, certainly the team is very vulnerable when he could be deemed healthy. I want to ensure the 3 million cap savings for the team over the next two seasons. I would rather bring up Colin McDonald or anyone on the Phantoms.

Of course, it is just my opinion, I fully expect the Flyers to dress Umby because usually what I think will happen goes in the complete opposite direction.

I still hate this whole uncertainty with the expansion draft. I understand the possibility of having to protect players with NMCs rather than them being excluded and agree they should have to be protected. But what I don't understand is why a player with a NMC on an expiring contract (that ends with them reaching UFA) would need to be protected. Assuming the expansion draft takes place shortly before the entry draft, that's about a week prior to FA. Yes, they're still under contract, but no player who's about to become an UFA is going to be selected. Again, I get that the player still has a NMC for a week, but pending UFAs with NMCs should not have to be protected in my eyes.

Either way, I probably don't risk playing RJ given this uncertainty
