Was a stupid reckless play. Johnson looks like he caught his skate on something, and was going down, but pateryn is a big fella, tj is a small fella, the push from big Greg made that play a LOT worse than it had to be. |

I've never seen a Tampa player touch a player from the other team after the whistle ever !! In fact that Hab player may of been the first player in the history of the NHL to touch a player after the whistle around the goal area |

Some indications that Johnson may be good to go for game 1. Hope is.... Kindled? |

If you push someone after a whistle, not expecting anything bad things could happen. - Artyukhin76
Sure, just like if you push someone before or during play, you're trying to make a distinction when there isn't one.
That play happens 30 times a game, and 29 out of 30 times it ends in nothing more than good old fashioned athletes competing hard...and nobody makes anything of it. It's extremely unfortunately that in this specific instances he caught an edge at the same time.
Chalk this one up to simple bad luck, hopefully he's back for the playoffs.

After watching video, no doubt what Cooper said is absolutely correct. It was dirty play and cheapshot. No redpect for that guy.
Johnson hit the boards sideways and looks like either injured his neck/upper spine area or worse got concussion. Hope it is not the latter and he can come later against Detroit maybe just missing a couple of games.
After last year wrist injury in finals this must be devastating. |

It didn't look like Pateryn hit him that hard, and he wasn't trying to bury him into the boards or anything.
But Habs fans would be losing their poop if it happened to one of their players.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Why some other people cannot understand this is completely beyond me.
With that being said the wings will take the series in six |

What a lousy cheatshot in a nothing game from a nobody against a 'star' of a cup contender....
Habs fans should feel shame, as should Mr. Nobody, who will finish his career in the ECHL |

IDK, seemed like it was a nothing shove & at the same moment Johnson unfortunately caught a rut in the ice, no intent for anything there, unfortunate result. |

Looking at the replay, he lost his balance yes, but why did he lose his balance?
Am I the only one who sees Pateryn can open him into the boards?
...Ok, watched it again, it was johnson's own stick that he was can opened with following Pateryn's slash on it. The shove wouldn't have led to anything if TJ wasn't flipping over his own stick. My first reaction is wrong, pateryn's actions weren't that bad....it was just a series of unfortunate circumstances |

Holy (frank). How is that not a cheap Shot?
Should be 8-10 game suspension. Totally flagrant cross check for no reason. Cheap, dirty and from a team out of the playoffs to a team in's star player... Throw the book at him. Garbage play. |

you're honestly saying that slight little touch, is worth more games that Keith slashing someone in the face with his stick? - Bigern4MVP
It was unnecessary and foolish. However, what he got is equal. What gets me is it is after the whistle. |

I think Keith should have gotten more. Having said that, What Keith did wasn't going to end someone's career, put them in a wheel chair. |

It appears that our only MIA players could be Stamkos and Stralman. This makes me excited. |

Heya Habs homers...Johnson was put into position to lose his edge from the shove b/c of the initial slash.
Boyle shove on Girardi was during play not after whistle. I could see interference as Girardi didn't have the puck but beyond that nothing to talk about on that play. This poop on Johnson was after the whistle and included not one but two after the whistle contacts.
