Slim odds there. Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Tkatchuk...... Nylander? Gauthier? - smellmyfinger
If they did slip into fifth I'd be happy with Nylander, Juolevi or Chychrun. Obviously Matthews is the ideal target, but all of the aforementioned plus the Finns would help our organization immensely.
I won't go losing my head like some on here and pretend that falling out of the top three is catastrophic for the Leafs; teams win championships, not individuals. |

Big drop off after first 3. If it happens, not much you can do.
Would definitely hurt the the team but yeah, not catastrophically. Just hope they draft BPA no matter what slot. |

I think that some people get too pulled into rankings. Look at 2008 for a start, here's the top ranked skaters (NA/Europe)
1 Canada Steven Stamkos (C) Russia Nikita Filatov (LW)
2 Canada Drew Doughty (D) Russia Kirill Petrov (RW)
3 Canada Luke Schenn (D) Sweden Anton Gustafsson (C)
4 United States Zach Bogosian (D) Sweden Mattias Tedenby (LW)
5 Canada Tyler Myers (D) Sweden Erik Karlsson (D)
6 Canada Alex Pietrangelo (D) Switzerland Roman Josi (D)
7 Canada Kyle Beach (LW) Russia Viktor Tikhonov (RW)
8 Canada Zach Boychuk (C) Russia Vyacheslav Voynov (D)
9 Canada Cody Hodgson (C) Russia Evgeny Grachev (C)
10 United States Colin Wilson (C) Russia Dmitri Kugryshev (RW)
I've bolded the "lols", just as a quick illustration that TRYING TO PROJECT A GROWN-ASS ATHLETE AS AN 18 YEAR OLD IS A (frank)ING poopSHOOT, AND ANYBODY ON HERE PRETENDING THAT THEY CAN DO A BETTER (frank)ING JOB THAN THE PROFESSIONAL SCOUTS IS A CONCEITED bumhole.
Make sense....? |

Drafting Tkachuk in the top 5 would be a huge letdown. I'd prefer Dubois over him. If the leafs fall to 4 or 5 then they should take the best available defensemen according to Hunter and his staff. I trust their judgement. Tkachuk is as slow as Freddy the Goat. It will come down to Chychrun or Juolevi. That or trade up into the top 3 somehow. |

When will the Jays think pitching might be a good idea? |

Yeah. I don't think Price would've signed in Toronto, however an offer would've saved face a bit. With their pitching (yet again), they look like their tanking |

I doubt Kadri is back, even if they don't sign Stamkos or draft Mathews.
If they do draft and sign those 2, not a chance Kadri is back. - Cooshie

If Philly wins Boston is out. Detroit has 39 ROW Boston has 38. |
