As a Flyers fan I want nothing more than to see the Rangers and pens beat the crap out of each other and guarantee a rival is out in the first round. as a hockey fan the playoff format is so stupid to have the Pens and Rangers play in the first round and have one of the better eastern conference teams out in the first round while one of TB (not the same with injuries)and Detroit move on.

It completely is, we have become addicted to the kool-aid of "the future is bright". 4 years ago when Couts, Voracek, Schenn, Simmonds came along, and when Laughton was ranked 12th best player drafted by Button after a year since draft, and Read seemed to be a perpetual 20 goal scorer and a perpetual shg scoring threat, the future was supposed to be these guys. They may have overachieved this year, but that is only relative to the lowered expectations after last year. 3 years ago, would you have accepted a bottom 5 on 5 G/G Ave.? Is that indicative of a forward core that apparently is just waiting for a few very young defenders to show up and lift the cup?
