I've been a Chychrun promoter since before this year and I stand by that being my number one choice. But if Sergachev is there at 5 or 6 I have absolutley no problem drafting him. 6'3 plays big, very fast and has a cannon. Yahs peas!

I'd be happy with Matthews, Laine, Pulj, Tkachuk, Chychrun, Serg or even Nylander

Even if we don't get a top 3 pick, we will get a he!! of a defensemen. The Canucks just need to really focus now and lose the next three games.

I'm surprised you don't have Dubois in there, the kid has had a fantastic season, was the best player at the CHL Orr/Cherry game. He plays a gritty game, one of only a few players to score 40 in the CHL this year as a draft eligible.

He looks good but I just think you are ranking him too high. I'm always leery of picks out of the Q

Fair enough, the best players in the Q still end up being good NHLers but to each their own. I think he really showed his maturity and high end skill was justified after the CHL top prospects game.

I heard he was great in the game but sadly I was out of town at the time. This is deep draft and even Gillis could pick a good prospect. Nonis, probably not

Sounds like puck drop today will be pretty close to 4 p.m. from Rexall. The main part of the ceremony sounds like it'll go down after the game.

Here's the new blog:
