Just how even when its painfully obvious that Geno doesn't fit in with how this team plays its best hockey people will still flip out about the thought of trading Malkin. Then people called in flipping out and he made them all look stupid. Maddens great. - Grinder47
There was a time the Penguins did very well without Crosby to. But people don't bring that up of course. Stop picking and choosing to try to make your argument sound good. But I've got to say I'm not surprised you like Madden you both act like you're better than everyone. |

Madden is a joke. The guy with 58 points in 57 games doesn't fit in the Penguins system. Suck a Richard Madden. |

With Nail Yakupov asking for a trade out of Edmonton there are a lot of articles circulating about the 2012 draft. Which also happened to be one of the Penguins most successful drafts of all time already. We got 2 franchise dmen in Maatta and Pouliot, 1 franchise Goalie in Matty Murray, and 2 future 2 way utility players in Sundvist and Bluegers. As well as the next Robert Bortiuzzo in Clrak Seymour. A guy who looked like he had some promise but injuries have all but destroyed in Anton Zlobin. I know a lot of this lies in "potential" and what the future may hold but we got at least 5 good players and the Oilers couldnt get it right with the first overall pick. No wonder they are where they are. |

Madden is only slightly better than herpes, and that's because he will eventually go away. I think however herpes is much better looking. |

Your right and left are backwards but I see Cole being moved and Suckjoy not being retained to keep Shultz and us having one hell of a fast, puck moving d. All 6 of those guys are capable of putting up offense at any time. |

I think you said the exact same thing to me last summer when I said Brian Dumooulin was easily a top 4 dman and would become a key player to the team. I've been out on a limb by myself only to be right enough to have earned some credibility at this point. |

I think we can have kessel as a 3rd line right wing in the playoffs. All that matters is winning games. Hawks did it last year with Sharp down on the 3rd line, sometimes 4th.
Kunitz - Sid - Horny
Hags - Malkin - Bennett (Sprong)
Rust - Bonino - Kessel
Kuhn - Cullen - Fehr
I was really tempted to put Kuhn with Geno because Geno always done well with a net front presence and I think Kuhn could be that. Wilson being healthy would be the left wing on that line. |

Sharp was also really underperforming and they had better options at wing than Sharp at that point in time. Apples and oranges.
But I agree with you all that matters is winning. I personally feel sticking Malkin back on the second unit is the best idea, but maybe there's something to keeping Hags-Bonino-Kessel together. You don't seperate Hags and Phil though. That's a no no. |

Canada sportsnet has somehow picked up the Roots broadcast for the night, and that is the stream I am watching. Sorry Jay Caufiled but Elliot Friedman is a much better analyst than you could ever hope to be, just like every NHL player playing the same time you did was a better player than you were. You must be used to it. I like this concept a little bit. Ontario commercials too instead of the old crappy rock band doing the Chevy commercial where the girl talks and then they all hit that one chord. And the Pittsburgh hospital commercials, thats all the Roots broadcast plays. |

I don't recall that at all.
1. DP is constantly tossed around in trade ideas.
2. Maatta with the exception of the 6 year deal has been mediocre at best.
3. Murray has potential but has not shown that he is a franchise Goalie yet.
4. Blueger and Sundqvist the jury is still out on
5. Seymour is still garbage and has been Wheeling fodder his entire pro career. He is not the next Bortuzzo in any way.
6. Zlobin had one good playoff run, that's it the rest he was awful in WBS regular season, injured all of last season and in Wheeling this season.
GO ahead though anoint them as the best cumulative draft picks of all time. |
