Sorry Jmatch, you've been here a long time, so you should know by now that coming here and complaining about dirty play by the Penguins isn't going to get you any consideration, especially comparing Malkin to Rinaldo. The extent that the Pens guys do/have done it is like a gnat on the shoulder of the Flyers elephantine sized accumulation of un-apologetically dirty play since coming into the league. I'm not saying the Penguins are choir boys, but there really is no comparison.

Honestly, I don't dislike him as much the last few years. I didn't like him in the first few years because, to be totally honest, he was a whiner. Mark Recchi even called him out on it. Then the whole 11/12 series happened, which followed the 10/11 meltdown, where he totally lost it and the team followed suit. Plus the fact that he had some questionable plays (punching a guy in the balls, "jumping" a guy off a faceoff) that he was never held accountable for. But like I said, he's taken that out of his game the last handful of years.

Malkin has some Gordie Howe-style elbows and is a king of slew foots. I understand that great players can be dirty, but most of those players get penalized/suspended for it, and Malkin does not (to an extent that I think he should be). Again, an undeniable talent, but as dirty as anyone not named Rinaldo.

Letang, I'm sorry, but he's the king of the "head thrown back" when he doesn't get hit by a stick/glove. I can't stand that. It's one thing to accentuate a call when a penalty has occurred, but it infuriates me when he does this when no penalty has occurred.

Really, it's a matter of scale. All players do everything that I've mentioned on here, even the great Toews. It's the regularity in which they do it without any kind of discipline. I've been a Penguins fan since I first saw Mario Lemieux torch the Flyers in 93/94, and I was always a fan of the team. Just because I'm not a fan of the 3 most popular guys on the team doesn't mean I don't like the team as a whole.

Case in point: I cheered for them when they won the Stanley Cup in 08/09, yet I refused to watch Bettman handing the Cup to Crosby. But I was happy for guys like Talbot, Gonchar, Guerin, Fleury, etc. because I liked the team as a whole.

Pens easily beat Rangers in playoffs imo. Rangers aren't very good
