So here we are at All Star break and 4 Canadian teams are sitting in playoff spots (Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton and Calgary). The Leafs are only a point behind Boston and have five games in hand. Vancouver is only a point out and Winnipeg is in position to make a second half run.

This is the best year for Canadian teams in a very long time.

don't act like it's not a good gimmick. he even goes over his copy/paste poop and edits out the capital letters. that's dedication right there.

Honestly? I go back and forth between the Canucks and sens as worst situation in the league. The Canucks have so little of value in the organization, their top 2 forwards and starting goalie about to retire, and next to nothing in the pipeline. The Sens have a few decent players, but really nothing to take the next step, no budget to work with.

I almost think the Canucks being so bloody horrid almost puts them a little bit ahead of the Sens, because the Canucks are going to bottom out and be in a position to pick up some top 2 or 3 picks no matter what they do. The sens are likely to continue spinning their wheels.

You do really need the Sedins to retire or go elsewhere though. It's just prolonging poop.

We really need to see what Benning does at the deadline.
I am praying make a push for the playoffs with future crippling trades...if so they are easily in the worst spot

This is probably more apparent in the Atlantic Division.

Which ever teams end up in the 2nd & 3rd spots, could have a slight advantage over the team that finishes 1st, as they will have to face one of the WC teams that most likely will come from the Metro Division, and could be a much harder matchup than either of the other two teams in the Atlantic division.

Not one hundred percent sure, as I've not researched it too much, but I think it's possible for a WC team from the Metro could win the Atlantic division, depending how things unfold in the 1st round, and how the reseeding is done.

no. some of the other teams fans in the division were complaining about that when both wildcard spots were ahead of the Atlantic seeds in points. not really the case anymore. it's possible 4 teams from the Atlantic make it at this point.

On my other point though, if a WC team from the Metro beats the 1st place team in the Atlantic, how does the re-seeding set up for the 2nd round?

Does the winner of the 2nd & 3rd placed teams (in the Atlantic) become the first seed in the Atlantic, and who do they play?

Just wondering if you know

I just read this article https://www.washingtonpos...d/?utm_term=.5aeb17cace61

Oh, that's the other group of people female doging. Yeah, NYR vs MTL.

At the end of the day, you have to be better than all 8 other teams to get to the finals. So, unless they're complaining about their chances of getting to the second round, whatever, not a big deal.

But I think it's obvious that depending on where you finish within your Division, in the current playoff format, there are "easier paths" to the Finals than others.
But all thing being equal, I still see an edge for the Metro division winner, in the conference finals................. but there is always injuries in the playoffs, so who knows, anything can happen, and that's why we watch them, eh?

Very true, some team will draw the sens and have a bye to the 2nd round.

Bump Vancouver up 2 or 3 spots (Benning VS Chia pet is a toss up) and change Ottawa to Quebec City and you pretty much nailed it.
