We made it to the cup finals that year. He had the huge hit on Seabrook but after that , he stopped hitting - VANTEL
Torres also obliterated Thorton in the Sharks series. Turning him into the one-armed man helped eliminate them too. Probably the main reason the Sharks signed him. |

Every playoff year we see how far our talent takes us n see what stops us.
Physical teams own us. |

Oh. I can't think of anything pissy to add at this point so I'll just leave it at that. |

His highlights video look really good though! Probably one of the most exciting prospects Ive seen in awhile. Glad they are working on contract right now. |

Well we don't want to look ahead to the future do we.
I guess u enjoyed the Flames running over us.
Its not like going thru LA n Anaheim in the future will get any easier. |

yes AND when we play physical we win.
But AV during his time here instilled discipline in the team and not to be physical so not to incur penalty. I see why, during that time the refs were brutal on us. It made sense to get team to not do anything that could possibly be used as excuse for penalty.
Problem is that time is over, coach is gone and needed to be changed back to more physical. Is yet to happen. Id love to see Edler get physicality back that has been missing. |

In the olden days you used to have a group of rugged guys who played on your fourth line and tried to hit people. That's how Raffi was used in the 2011 playoffs.
But now you need rugged guys with varying degrees of skill on every line. And for success in the playoffs you don't so much need guys to run around and hit people as you need guys who can just run right over the other guys who are trying to hit you.
Separate and unrelated side note: Ferland forechecking Tryamkin should be interesting in a year or two. |

yep....
you know it makes me wonder if the shink trade was more about making room for rodin and getting the right center for him at the same time...essentially setting up the right scenario knowing rodin would be here |

I think JB does not see Shink as an NHLer. |

I can see the Shink Sven Rodin scenario, too many of that type. I don't know where I stand with Granlund yet? Two healthy scratches. He could have been brought in to replace Vey but it's not working out yet. |

JB's way of shuffling in players to find success. All his move have not cost us much all in all. Refreshing in some ways he does that n allows ppl spots to compete for.
I agree we have enough Sven n Rodin types. |

Edler has too many back issues to play as physical as he did when he was younger. That huge neutral-zone collision he had with Benn several years ago were the start of his problems. Hopefully missing the last few months of the year with the leg problem will allow him more time to build up some extra strength over the summer so he's better next year. |
