We need more scoring from D in a huge way.
- Nighthawk

which is what I've said there and so I agree. I like the idea of picking a good all-around guy myself, Serg/Chych both seem like that kind of player. To me Serg is the guy with the blast and CHych the one with the skating/hands. I'd be happy with either, it's less anti-rusky sentiment and more just preferring the guys who can skate to the big shot for me. Both guys hit, both guys play well in their won zone.

Winger Anton Rodin's club season finished last week in Sweden. Sources indicate he's close to a deal with Canucks.

think it was tsn that had it but I may be wrong. It was from a list posted here and linked to it.

we have the chance for a good D man sounds like no matter who we pick. Perhaps picking who they feel is the best talent combined with being the most nhl ready would be best since he need to grow these guys NOW.

also from another post ....good point scooby about watching who falls. Gillis didnt realize that in shink.

It's a tough one, karlsson fell his year as did Seth Jones... hard to say. But I totally agree that there is good reason why guys drop. I really think JB is the right guy for the job as far as drafting the next few years, whether or not he is great with trades/contracts is another story.

and Edler...

If we don't get a top 3 pick, I'd guess JB will draft a dman.

If thats what is available sure. I'm not terribly excited about what this crop of D offer for an offensive threat. For me its Laine n if not I'll live with whatever JB does.

guessing for next season, not even sure if he got back into the lineup, before the end of the season, since his injury.

This is just a feeling, but I think Matthews ends up in Vancouver. Matthews Boeser on our first line looks too good for it not to happen.

I'm feeling lucky.

Hes solid. Hes a guy you keep.
I dont mind his trades. Some were very good in fact.

But look at the last few GMs trades and drafting. JB easily gets a solid compared to those guys on both counts.

Yeah. Maybe we could trade down and pick up another 2nd round pick. Use that and Pittsburgh's pick to trade up and make sure we get one of the dmen in Bean or Fabbro. (If they don't go top 12 or so)
- walshyleafsfan

You could trade your two first round picks for Mathews

I'm more happy with guys like Sbisa/Sutter than many on here and Bae has grown on me. Etem/granlund also seem like wins too, but time will tell on Shink. I think 3.5 for a top-4 (if Sbisa continues to progress) is not bad. As for the drafting, well I think were all in agreement that JB has done "real good" there

Etem n Granlund r destined to be bottom 6.
Shink is soft n no defensive game n only 25+ a season gets him to be a regular NHLer IMO. As for Sbisa he is fine until we have depth that can push him more.

whatever it was the 2010/2011 season. I'm pretty sure you're aware of what event I'm talking about, it's pretty straightforward.
