Any updates on Dumo? Can't find anything while riding home. - Guile
TD was quoted as saying after the game that he thinks Doums will be ok. That was all he cared about, that Doums was going to be ok. |

Late to the party with commenting, but what an awesome stretch by these Pens. Has anyone seen Sammy in the last 6 games?
Kuhnhackl is making me regret the mean things I said about him. Rust brings so much to the team.
All acquisitions are fitting in extremely well...Daley, Hagelin, Schultz.
Sucks hard about Dumo. But fortunately we have Pouliot & Lovejoy ready to go. They may not be as solid as Dumo, but its nice to not have to dip down to the Warsofksy's of the world. |

Have to say Pens wanted it more.
Also, don't need Sesito when you can light them up on the scoreboard.
Rolling four lines regularly will keep up fresher which is what we are seeing. |

daley really looks like he is enjoying himself here. has to feel good after being basically outside the rotation in chicago. |

I imagine Schultz feels similarly. I have a friend who is friends with one of the Pens trainers who said that Schultz said the difference between the attitude of the team and the expectations of the coaches is enormous. He said it was tense and lots of finger pointing in Edmonton. Here it's about playing a certain style and sticking with it. |

Some interesting numbers.
A year ago, we got a combined 6-14-20 from our SWB call-ups. That was DP, Ebbett, Sill, Rust, Dumo, Megna, Chorney , Wilson, Uher, Harrington, Farnham.
This year ... we are 17-24-41 from our skaters and 4-2-1, 1.85, .935 from our goalie callups from SWB. While those skater numbers aren't big time high, they are relevant. Rust, Kunhackl, Sheary, Wilson, DP, Porter, Sundqvist and Simon ... Murray each have made contributions of varying degrees that have impacted this roster. |

i dont think rust will ever be a 20 goal scorer. but man, i think that deal is going to be a steal this time next year |

The call ups remind me of tk and what andrew Shaw has given the hawks for years. Hard playing bottom 6 guys who throw in some offense. We have not had guys like that for a long time.
Fwiw big tdl moves just do not seem like they pay off. Blackhawks seem to be struggling from messing up their chemistry too much. Pens did the same thing one year. I think you can add a piece or two but when teams go all in and try to remake every line at the tdl it seems to cause chemistry problems. Messes with an identity.
The one complaint I have for our head coach is he seems to put some players in the doghouse and not give them a shot to see what they can do. Cole seems like he was in that situation. And now he's performing quite well. Bennett and plot also. Maybe the zero playing time for guys makes them all fear if they come out of the lineup they won't get back in |

If Rust can develop into a 10-12 goal guy and provide what he does, that would be great. I say it with a few players ... sometimes numbers don't tell the entire story.

exactly. and for under a mil! i really was of the mind that having 2 or 3 of these young WBS guys in was good. any more and its too much heart, not enough actual talent.
rust is a keeper as far as i'm concerned. i thought kuhnackle would be an odd man out long term, but he is getting more and more noticeable. |

According to Trotz it will be business as usual unless a guy is nicked up. Caps have great depth so the minutes have been spread out well all year except for Niskanen who's had his minutes upped considerably with Orpik out 2 months and now Carlson out a month. Recently the fourth line was getting more minutes than the 3rd line which is why you see the lines shuffled with Beagle on 1st line and Williams on 3rd. Just trying to keep guys or their toes. And I caution the thread starter that numbers are very deceiving. Caps have been on cruise control since Jan, as evidenced by allowing the 1st goal in 17 of their last 23 games. However, last 2 games have been their best in a long time. If you think this is a PP team only you will be in for a rude awakening in a month - bondraovie
