It's taken Florida six years of drafting to get where they're currently at. - LeftCoaster
Yeah. Until they got Ekblad they didn't see any real improvement. Gudbranson never turned into what they thought. |

Ok then how about trading games played then too so it lessens your guys chances of getting out of the bottom 3?

At least the Penticton Vee's are keeping me entertained with good hockey. Up 2 games on West Kelowna. Scott Conway is good! 20 Year old 6' center, un-drafted. - VanHockeyGuy
Speaking of un-drafted, I wonder who Van is coveting for CHL and College FA's. Van should be a destination some would want to go considering the change over and roster spots that could be available soon. |

Van is pretty much 3 years in already. Three years ago sold Schneider for Bo. They just had a good year in the middle. |

They don't need to. Pick up our waiver castoffs and sign our UFA's? - VanHockeyGuy
We are a waiver castoff team already |

Agree I'm thinking 3-5 years and we'll be back in the dance.
BTW new Amon Amarth out end of March…just a heads up…
 - LordHumungous
I heard the track First Kill, saw the video. It's ok. They are playing in Van soon as well. I'm sure the CD will be good like the rest.
I went through a difficult time when Lemy from Motorhead died. I don't think one band crossed over to so many sub cultures... been one of my favorite bands since 13. The emotional connections to my youth was unreal. The amount of grief that was on my FB from Metalheads, Punks, Skins, Rockers, Mods, even my father was a fan and every other biker I grew up around. If you went to one of their shows, you knew it for days after... they were officially the loudest band in the world for a generation.

Ummm, We were discussing the detroit red wing (or at least that's what I was talking about them just making the playoffs but lots of empty seats). Van has been good but not decade(s). - manvanfan

Yup started with Bo
Bo and JV two top ten picks , plus this years.
Markstrom Sven are as good as two top ten picks.
Hutton and Tryamkin look like more solid drafting
Demko and Boeser continuing the trend |

Probably Tanevs brother - VANTEL
Some guy on fanside this morning wrote a blog about the future canucks and he had Brandon Tanev penciled in on top defensive pairing for Van next year. Chris didn't even make the team. Brandon isn't even a D, I don't think.
He Has since changed that error though |

I hear you. I don't have quite the emotional connection with Motorhead as you but for sure acknowledge their influence, impact and diversity that had them stick through all the musical changes of the ages. I saw then live finally at the Whiskey in Calgary years ago and was stunned at the live emotional connection the crowd had with the band…you really could slice the electricity in the air.
I do have the entire Motorhead catalog three times over all on original pressing vinyl and the new heavyweight remaster series vinyl plus all the CD's. A cherished collection to be sure. Even though my emotional connection exists mostly with 80's metal of my memorable teen years I have the ability to recognize Motorheads contributions for what they were…and they were massive.
I will check out that new Amon Amarth track I just found out this morning they had a new record slated for months end. |

LW - Sven
RW - Virtanen, Boeser
C - Horvat, McCann
Hutton and Tryamkin are young but probably won't ever be a real top pairing D. This is why I see the need for a D. Kind of why I don't hope for a top 3 pick this year unless getting matthews which then I think McCann should be traded off with someone for Drouin. |

The transition of out with the older players and in with the younger ones didnt start 3 years ago though. Schneider was just entering his prime when traded and we kept Luongo for another season instead. Bo was a prime aged goalie ready for the starters role for a pick is all. Bo only entered the line up last season as well.
For me it started with the Luongo trade and the Kessler trade. There was a real shift there from the old guard to the new and it has gained momentum since.

I see Tryamkin and Hutton as second pairing D same as Edler and Tanev. We need to upgrade by making a trade. |

Yann Suave is the last D van has drafted in the first 2 rounds, that was 2008. |

Who is going to give up a legit top pairing D, there are probably only 10 in the league and couple teams have 2 of them. They won't give up them unless your giving them Matthews. Yandle is probably the best FA this season and he's not better then Edler other then he's injured less often. |

For me it started last year bringing in Bo and Vey and shipping out Bieksa. This year was a deep transition . Next year I think MCCann will be a Comet and there will be about five new faces on the Canucks |

I think Wpg ANA Minn would be willing to look at a trade but it will start with Tanev and cost more
Edit : no one is trading a number one D but we can find upgrades on our top pairing |

Ok, we agree that was 2 years. Schneider trade was 3. This is where people are confused and coming up with "3 years in".
I agree on McCann as well. With a healthy Sutter/granlund and Vey showing improvement still, McCann may have to start on the Comets unless they offload Vey. McCann already took Vey's job once in the pre season though and they showed they were willing to lose Vey on waivers already as well(not to mention being on "The List"). This will be one of the big Drama's in the pre-season surely. |
