Stop making poop up.

- boonerbuck

make what up? Did you watch the games the last 2 nights? When Vey is your best performing young guy, you should be concerned.

So if we gave Edler and McCann we can get Karlsson?
- manvanfan

Not sure. They are good trade chips though.

No way he's coming to Toronto, Makita. Why would he? Dumpster fire from top to bottom
- walshyleafsfan

Only because it's been talked about on every TSN and Sportnet shows for months. And this dumpster fire stinks worse than TO right now

you get your choice between like 1000 players. All picking 6th does is scratch 4 guys off the board. I just dont get it... there are plenty of amazing players drafted in the top 10. Is it really worth destroying the development of every other prospect in the system, just to upgrade 1 player? (moving from 6-3)

The list of poop you are making up on this thread is getting pretty long in only three pages. Please step back from the crazybagoglue.

Take what ever pick is available at the spot they finish, (frank) tank nation and the relentless praying to lose. That game last night was crap, and I was disappointed by the intensity they played with.

You're not a true fan, you're a bad fan.
You don't see the big picture, you just see things on a game to game basis.
This is the type of fan the Canucks have inherited over the years of winning. Fans that don't understand how to build a hockey team, they just expect to win and compete every game.

Every team has its ups and downs, you need to embrace the good and bad.

Yes but they only needed two good drafts...

I heard that the Oilers would have had Kane but that empty net breakaway miss by Stefan gave them an extra point and thus the Hawks got the first overall... Crazy how that worked out...

- Scooby_Doo

this.

Scouting will make you a playoff team, not tanking. Doesn't matter where you draft. High draft picks should be a pleasant surprise and a reward for good scouting. Chicago still went kind of off the board and picked toews the college player with their 3rd.

If we lose to the Jets tomorrow, we could easily lose another 8 in a row.
The way Toronto are competing, last overall is not out of reach.

I respect your opinion Makita, but I disagree. Those networks work for the Leafs so they're trying to tamper. Stamkos' representatives will see right through this. Management has no direction and not a lot of experience doing what they are doing. Their only answer is to tank. It'll be another decade before Toronto sees a playoff game. Especially if Vancouver offer sheets Rielly like Vantel suggested. They'd be stuck with Marincin and Frankie 4 fingers in their top 4 D.

wayne didnt play in 2016, and didnt play defence.... so don't know what you're getting at? Comparing Karlsson to Gretzky is close, this guy doesnt get enough credit.

How's that working out for Edmonton? If you think we are getting a Connor McDavid to make up for it, you;re mistaken
- Crazybagoham

Who says we have to mismanage the team after we rebuild? Oilers clearly have just sat around waiting for all these kids to grow up instead of managing the assets and icing a balanced team of youth, prime and vets not to mention all the years that they refused to get quality goaltending. Canucks are only just starting to restock the cupboards with youth this last two seasons. What makes you think we are choosing to copy the Oilers. You cant think can you... just yap yap yap.

Need to keep our chips to trade them when this team is ready to compete. At least 2 more years away. Should be keeping the younger players in Utica and signing guys like kris versteeg and viktor stalberg for 3rd and 4th lines. Players that can be traded at the deadline but won't hurt too badly during the regular season. Tomas Fleischmann.

Not at all, he was the 3rd ranked player in NA for central scouting.

I don't think we are agreeing.

Canucks need a top 3 pick this year and another top 5 next year. Make some good 2nd and third round picks, ideally defencemen. Maybe a mid rounder that works out and then we are good.
Matthews Boeser would be a sick start to a first line. Even Laine or Puljuarvi. Then next year get another top line player.

We aren't going to get these guys picking 10th for the next 3 years.

why arent there good players available in the top 10 or past? (there's actually thousands of players available), look at Tarasenko last night. I'd rather not lose for 2 more years, thanks We pay our scouts money so let's use them to make a winning hockey team. So only 10 draft picks every year have a chance to be a good player? Dont buy it... and that's not a good model to build off of, especially when you have no idea what you're getting 2 years from now.

If we get a top 3 pick and draft one of those fowards I think there're will still be a good D man available at 31-33. With Bennings strength in drafting I like those odds
