The guy would scare me as a GM, suspended from his KHL team, left NJ in a bad spot. I think his skill is undeniable, but this guy has either an attitude, or horrendous luck with coaches/management.

He is a very selfish player for sure. Good reminder

He did retire because NJ got the cap space

I thought they lost a draft pick and then got another one later...

That explains why you keep eating the cheese sandwiches.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I think we can also tell which days hes eaten them too by the posts that seem much lower standard than his usual
Apparently he had one last week

stay away from the cheese bro

Yeah Jersey got hooked for cap circumvention or something and lost their first, then when the league realized how rediculous it was, gave them the 30th pick as pity. Kovalchuk put the screws to Jersey.

Don't get to excited, the #1 point producer from the d-line was Cam Barker

To be fair that was a terrible signing by NJD in the first place.
Worse than the Lu contact IMO, and that's saying something.

He would be a stop gap, not a cornerstone player.

They lost Parise to free agency that season too I think. Lou Lamoriello is difficult at the best of times.... Can definitely see why both bailed. Least Luo has the decency to play for his huge contract

Beyond the Uncle Lou connection, that does not make a whole lot of sense.

Vey would be good for us if we had a finisher. He creates some nice scoring opportunities
- VANTEL

His play is decent yes. As ive said he is clearly at his ceiling. Rather have a player with a higher ceiling to develop in that spot.
Which was your point with burrows before. He isnt what he was but still a valuable contributor in other intangible ways...however if it takes a spot from an up and comer then its time to move.

same as Vey, who wont be getting an better. IF he maintains where he's at. Judging on last season we saw he cant keep it up for very long. So its only downhill for him. Better off replacing him

I think he is no where near his ceiling. He keeps getting better every month. Has he even played 82 games yet?

true, but we'd be way more competitive for a few years with him. If it helped guys like horvat etc offensively its worth it.

Could be incredible line with the sedins! Record year for all 3 is possible
