Bear with me, but on a separate topic, I sense a disconcerting pattern here when it comes to injuries and day to day player management (the Canucks have seemingly been in the top tier of teams who have missed a lot of man-games due to injury over the last few years). I'm wondering if there is something that the training/development staff could be doing better to avoid losing players to injury. Perhaps a different training a regime or approach is needed? as obviously we are consistently running into a lot of man-games lost. Who actually oversees these type of dynamics and day to day game-shape metrics. Thoughts?

Excellent…excellent points. We were actually discussing some of this at work the other day and there was a comment on today's players being 'over conditioned'. Their bodies not carrying enough fat content to provide protection against injuries. Some really good points brought up.

Travel , shot blocking , fragile, and bad luck

I agree those are factors but at some point you have to re-review your training regime when you are consistently in the top ten in terms of man games lost, as you can only blame travel, shot blocking and bad luck so far. Does anyone know who actually oversees such development and training? Is there actually some sort of mandate to focus on strength/conditioning/flexibility etc? are the coaches involved?

If Van really is in rebuild then should be doing the same as the TML.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who questions player's physical management and daily exposure to on-going development. I'd love to hear one of the powers-that-be address this very issue and explain precisely what sort of regime is in play and what sort of efforts are made to implement the latest training techniques in order to mitigate at least some of these injuries.

No thanks. Maybe Martin, but Backes makes no sense.

If we get 4th pick, do we take Tkachuk or Chychrun?

I understand people don't like Backes but he is a 6'3 20 goal RHC sh1t disturber. Exactly what you need in the Pacific division

As was pointed out earlier.
Real injurys that are kinda 'poop happens' this season
Suter
Sedin
Edler
Hamhuis

All the recent ones are most likely mainly playable... but the fix is in and the HC or GM is scratching them to get a better look at the kids.... and to watch our draft status, same thing happened 2 years ago, as soon as we were out of it the "injury" bug hit and we started losing more and more games, should have drafted 10th OV at worst, instead we got down to 6th. Will they be as "skilled" this year and drop from what should be the 8th OV into the top 3? only time will tell.

Hansen is the one that I scratch my head on, I wonder if they have a trade lined up after the season is over

He's too old for our movement. I'm not on board with signing older players (outside our new core) like Lucic or Backes. Makes no sense for us or them for that matter. In 3 years, look for a big ufa signing, but right now I don't see the point.

Next year is going to be more painful than this year, they'll probably finish last next year.
