What has Nielsen done?
Strome has regressed but the dopey coach continues to use him...?? - Ur Not Me
That's my question also. Now don't get me wrong I don't think he sucks by any means. In fact I was a huge fan at one point but the team has outgrown him. He doesn't have the tools that this team needs to get to the next level IMO. It's time to move on and signing the guy to what will probably be a 5 yr contract would be a huge misstep IMO. Forget about KO there has to be viable replacements found and to say we have to sign them because we're scared we can't get anyone else is a cop out of monstrous proportions. |

NEWS FLASH: Nino has scored more BIG goals than almost any other isles player... - Ur Not Me
New Flash - no he hasn't... the guy we traded him for has.. move on from the Nino points. It makes you look dumb. |

Its not the points, it when Nino has scored has been very decisive within the games, ummmmm he's scored more PO goals last year (I think) than any islanders...
So u move on with another statement.... |

Are you guys really getting on Nielsen now. Guy makes one bad turnover in 3 season and you want to get rid of him. Come on.
I agree with Dan. Resign okposo and Nielsen bc this team will be aweful without them
I think okposo actually one of few top players that trying. Tavares is the player that Needs to put his game up one more level.
The biggest reasons why we starting to slide is Strome Tavares Nelson need to be better.
Putting strait in again was just pure stupidity.
Greiss might be my favorite goalie in long time. I think he could be our #1 for next season and beyond. If Halak was in net against Dallas it could have been 7-0.
It's funny this team sunk the day after I got email to isles season ticket holders about securing playoffs tickets.
They better wake the hell up tonight. My guess it's crapuano puts in berube visnosky and Bernier. - Spartiarti
you mis readwhat i said... i wantno part of resigning Okposo..just saying i don'tthink you could lose BOTH KO and Frans |

I agree Cpt. I'm not a fan of Frans, but he is not the biggest problem he is just not the solution any longer. It's the GM's job to find better players. We have plenty of prospects and we have draft picks and we are out of the Coli now. Time to demand more from our GM and stop with the excuses. |

i just have zero faith in snow to bring in quality replacements to fill the spots of who we loose and upgrade those that are failing. i'm just waiting for a signing in july like Brad Boyes or Peter Regin and then Garth selling you on Barzal or MDC... thats what i'm fearful of.. if this offseason is a home run, this team could be back in the lottery real quick |

Funny how other teams make coaching changes and sometimes do it when the team has a winning record. Isles have to wait for the wheels to completely fall off before thinking about making a change. - ses111
There has to be more than what we as fans know........it cant be as simple as Garth having faith in his guy. I mean, 5 years as coach without a playoff round win, and looking like this year wont be any different yet he's not on the hot seat (that we know of). Something doesn't add up.... |

Garth is an insecure backup goalie. He likes having his friends like Cappy and Dunham around. Garth does not want proven people around. It's seems clear as day to me. |

Garth needs to go then Dan. The owners have to have someone in place as soon as they take over. Them taking over on July 1 is garbage. They should take over as of the last regular season game. The new owners need Garth to clear anything he wants to do with them before they officially take over in July. |

Thanks to new owners I am confident that these new owners will have more hockey brains then Wang and fire GArth and the coaching staff. There is no excuse for the Islanders play of late. This is the time of year you get up for and go full force but in typical Islander form the Islanders will sneak into the playoffs and get bounce in the first round. Same script every year from this team and staff |

Lets see what happens, but I have a feeling Garths tenure is coming to an end. If this team doesnt make the playoffs there's no other option. Its not like they're playing great hockey so not making the playoffs is an absolute possibility.
Over/Under on when the Garth must go petition gets passed around? |

Whats interesting is that under Crappy the isles have had their usual 10-20 game slide in every single season (mid season). We havent seen it yet until now. It would be horrific if that slide started now, and this team misses the post season. |

The new owners have had plenty of time to have people in mind to take over. They can tell any new GM to be ready to go on July 1. No reason Garth should get anymore time if the team misses the playoffs or is out again in the 1st round. |

i agree... what annoys me is heis still in hiding and you haven't heard a peep out of him despite some quotes spewed to his puppet staple. its like he is hiding in a cave or something. i really think this whole staff needs to go including the GM |

If this team does miss the playoffs then everyone should be fired no questions asked. There is no excuse for this. They cant be tired as they hardly play when they have games. I just don't understand the mentality of this team. IT is like they give up and dont care. The coaching staff has no answers which is scary in itself. They dont know what adjustments to make. Cappy has no clue how to make lines. It is a debacle. Some people on here can support everything this team does but as I look around the league a lot of teams do not have this problem if they are indeed a playoff team. They dig deep and play their hearts out not this team, and they never get punished for it. They need to bring some kids up and force them to play or they sit. Bottom line |

Look at the Panthers.........Dale Talon has been GM for 5 years, and his Panther team (who was a basement team, is now 2nd in the east). Good drafting, good signings etc will bring success. How can anyone rationalize Garth Snow having a job this long without success? |

We usually get some type of word from him after every trade deadline. I did not see any article where he said anything this year. Maybe he finally picked up on the fans tired of hearing the we have enough talent to win BS speech? I just do not think Garth is up to being a GM of a team. The Leddy and Boychuk contracts took the money excuse out. |

Some would say its not his job as GM to address the fans. I disagree, but would you if you've had the reigns for going on 10 years and nary a single year of success? Add to that his idea that this roster is all set for a playoff run is looking more and more ridiculous with each loss. Truth be told, i'd be quiet too..........whats he gonna say? He phucked up? Never gonna happen.......he's gonna ride this job until he's told dont come back. |

Other teams have sure turned things around much faster. I get that Wang is a horrible owner, but since the new owners have bought in, we have seen money spent on Halak, Boychuk, and Leddy. I have a very hard time believing Garth could not afford to hire a better coach than Cappy and that Wang would put a stop to it. Sorry this is on the GM. |
