The fourth line might be their top line...I think they need either to sit Bailey, Strome and Lee or give them 4th line minutes...

Let Bailey center the forth line with two other lousy players. Put Cal with or Casey with JT and the other goes to the 2nd line and Martin goes to the third.

Bud or Lou would be an improvement at this point.

It might not work, but I would put the kid line back together. It's worth a shot. They're all not playing well, maybe something will change.

I think we need Nelson with JT and put Cal on wing and try Casey with Strome and Lee on the 2nd.

It seems that's how Cappy makes most of his game-time decisions.

"Despite not even showing up, the Islanders were down just one and were handed the game's only power play with three minutes left in the game. Capuano did not pull Jaroslav Halak until after the power play. Also yes because their were plenty of viable candidates to replace him."

So, Dan calls out Cappy for waiting until the Powerplay is over to pull the goalie. Why would you pull your goalie when your team is on the PP and you're down by only a goal??? You do realize that the short handed team can fire the puck down the ice while short handed. Just a ridiculous statement.

Decisions can be made based on team play but since the isles have issues scoring, a 6 on 4 could give a more slight advantage.

I love when people say this. That's the GM's job and in a production based business like professional sports you either produce or you get fired. Unless you're Garth Snow of course who incredibly has some fans who make excuses for his lack of results. Guy has got it made.

Seriously, who should the Isles have gone after? Pay a high price for Staal and still find yourself out after one round…maybe two. Would that have been worth it? The Isles are not yet to the point where they aquire rentals for a long playoff push. The Caps made some nice moves, but look how long they waited before the made some additions. The Isles time will come.

Didn't see the game and sounds like I would have thrown another remote and destroyed it..
Did I read correctly in Newsday before the game that Crappy said Strait was a heavy player and has played well this year and that was his reasoning for playing Strait over Pulock?
Does this logic after the kid scores his first goal and plays consistantly well make any sense to anyone?
Also question, how did the " heavy" Strait play last night?

Think he was referring to make changes to the roster that are needed. In off-season nothing was done, thru the year you should be able to see what is lacking so by deadline maybe additions can be made....

I have no issues with letting Okposo go. However if Nielsen is let go.. Try to replace both of their offense will be difficult... And if it's Snow still in charge he will sell you on some hack past his prime and Barzal and Dal Colle as their replacements. I don't think their is anything wrong with Nielsen IF you upgrade elsewhere and add a third line center with sandpaper

I'm sorry but I'm getting tired of ppl pointing out replacing their pts. These players are NOT big enough when it counts to have rely upon replacing pts. IF and I mean IF this Gm was able to attract or acquire better talent, the issue of replacing pts shouldn't even be discussed. Problem is the coaching staff sucks and maybe some of the players do too....

Well, any coach that pulls his goalie while on the PP and down by 1 goal in game 7 would be scorned. Just doesn't make any sense at all.

As a coach its your responsibility to put your team in the best possible chance to win or tie a game, especially in a deciding game 7 factor. That makes the most sense....

I agree to an extent but its hard to judge a players worth with this (frank)ing moron playing musical lines even when they play well.
