So every gm that didnt add should be fired? What about gms that subtracted from there team and took away production should they be fired too? No, because waiting for the right move that will help the on ice product is worth it.
Best example is the dallas stars, didnt go for it all at the trade deadline last year waited until the summer to get sharp and oduya
There are alot of things i criticize garth snow for the most being he didnt fire cappy and get dan bylsma but this years trade deadline is not one of them. - Flexingtheshaft
Well than he should have done something in the summer. We all knew we had holes in our line up and after the playoffs it became glaringly obvious what those holes were. There were players available that could have easily filled those holes. Whose fault is that? To continue to go through the season with those obvious holes and now into the playoffs (maybe) is ridiculous. Youre assuming there was nothing out there for this team at the deadline. None of us really know. Also Ladd is a player that would immediately fill a need. A late first and an ok prospect is NOT a monumental price. Snow is not getting it done it's that simple. |

I agree. A real coach makes this team A LOT better but that to me is an enormous misstep. Getting shat canned worthy mistake that we are forced to frustratingly watch. As long as Snow is our GM this team will never take that next step. I have yet to see anything that tells me otherwise and I welcome anyone to show me something that'd make me think I'm wrong. - Cptmjl
End of the day the team is run as a whole by Garth and all the good he's done and even the moves at trade deadlines made and not made, trades that worked and trades that didn't are over shadowed by the fact that he backed Crappy.
I think if he would have brought Trotz or Baylsma etc. in this team is better without a doubt but he didn't and should pay with his job if the Islanders don't make the POs or flounder if they do.

I think a coach can instill a mind set in players to be grittier and play tough even when it's not in their nature. I think that Crappy talks about the 4th line and that they play the game the right way, well he should demand more of the same, a simple north, south smarter game from the rest of his roster. Instead we get stupid passes and chances taken that lead to turnovers etc. the inconsistantcey of this team screams this coaches inexperience in mho. - nyisles7
A coach can instill a mind set, bu the players also have to have it in them as well. The forth line seems to have this built in already. The coaching is a huge problem no question about it. |

Agree and if a player doesn't give what the coach demands then he doesn't fit and should be moved .

I fully agree. Snow has made some good moves. If he had dropped Crappy I would think he was an average GM. Since Crappy is still here Snow is a horrible GM. |

Snow is the problem plain and simple. The reason he keeps cappy around is he can control him. I have watched the team from its inception and do you really think a coach a real coach would come to the team if garth is the gm? No way. That is the reason we still have cappy. Control plain and simple. One last rant. Snow got lucky with leddy, boychuck salary cap casualties. I do admit he did sign them long term but thats it. We agree cappy is a moron, but I do believe snow makes all the roster moves and or lineups. Just my feelings in my gut |

I've thought that for a while. I don't know if he makes all the decisions, but I think he has a lot of input. |

It is about control and not the Isles cannot afford a higher paid coach. I think he does have a hand in the lineup moves. |

I know cappy is an idiot but sometimes the moves seem even stupid for him. I think snow has a deep rooted problem with certain people and lets that cloud his judgement. I love the Isles. As a former Long Islander I have a great memory of all the early years and the cup years and it hurts me to see the team at this point in time. I really fell until snow goes it will stay the same old team. Lets not forget that JT still does not have a legit line to work with and when the time comes he will go. I play sports at a high level even for my age and believe me he knows the window is getting smaller every day. Just my 2 cents |

Games in hand mean nothing if you dont win them. If this team continues to play the way it has it wont mean anything in a couple weeks. Get ready for the excuses. |

They better not think of using the Halak excuse. This is going to come down to Cappy and the top 9 forwards getting a clue. |

Are you kidding? That bullet is already in the chamber. It will be said right after 'Capuano says: "We're not going to use injuries as an excuse but...." |

You know it Pete. They will also bring out the young players taking a step back as part of a process. |

Only one excuse and he's behind the bench. Couldn't even motivate Barney Rubble(Doug Weight). |
