The way both teams are playing right now it would probably be a god awful series. Like 2 peewee teams playing each other.

If only we could get puck Daddy to write about Capuano and Strait.

That Girardi contract really turned out bad. As bad as Strait is, he has a nothing contract.

What are the odds if they lose tonight they fire Cap... 1%? 5%? Any chance at all?

In the last 8 games the Islanders have 3 wins. Clutterbuck has 2 of the game winners in those 2 games. One against the Rangers. He is on the 4th line and doesn't get Power play time. He also had the game winner against Dallas in the 6-5 game they won.. and a few others. He is one of our best penalty killers and I would not trade the guy for Nino right now straight up.

Well said, and i agree. Cal's a winner.......he gives it every single game. Great addition to this team.

It's not that he was signed... or even that he plays. It's that our coach uses him instead of guys much better and plays him way too much at really important times. It's so frustrating it's unbelievable.. How does he not see what EVEYRONE else in the world can see?

No chance......the ship will go down with Capuano. He's the guy, like it or not.

Only too late for this GM. Did Lou not bring in Larry Robinson pretty late?

This is the Isles' the last six games:

They did this last year too and it cost them home ice in the first round. Now, they're doing it again and it may cost them more than just home ice. Its time for this team to get its collective s**t together and start getting some points. NYR and PIT can still be caught and passed.

I'm still of the mind that Girardi isn't that bad. He is having a pretty subpar year though, but most of the Rangers defense is except McDonagh & Klein. Boyle & Yandle are way worse in the defensive end.
If this is the start of his decline, then yeah that contract is going to look real bad.

One thing I will say, in the playoffs he has been matched up against OVI, Crosby, etc every year and pretty much came out on top.

You bring up a fair point, but i can see both sides. All in all, i guess most on here, myself included are tired of the inconsistencies of this lineup. They're too far along under this "regime" to not have it figured out.

That said, how are your seats?

I'm not giving up at all with this team and thinking the playoffs are out, but let's not pretend this team has earned 100% trust either.

In theory a "rebuilding team" should be better than the year before. This team while no longer rebuilding (as the management says), is no better than last year. Matter of fact, I believe they are worse. So for me, I dont think they make the playoffs.

They'll make it. They would have to have a total collapse to miss.

They'll make it.

Edit; but if they don't I wont be upset for long if it means a full house cleaning of Snow and all of his buddies
