with a former islander coach
- Dan Petriw

I just have this feeling that when the new owners take over we are going to see a whole different team. New GM coach and players. I just have this feeling. WE have to many guys who are worthless to this team and maybe should not even be here at the NHL level. GArth had his chance to get new players in and make some impressive trades. He has not done that and decided to go with the same team year in and year out except for some depth players who really are a waste of roster space

i would push hard to get Kevin Dineen off of chicago and I think Marc Crawford and Guy Boucher are viable options to replace this coach
- Dan Petriw

All viable options Dan and all not going to cost close to Babcock money. Every year there have been very good options for Garth.

If this team does miss the playoffs then everyone should be fired no questions asked. There is no excuse for this. They cant be tired as they hardly play when they have games. I just don't understand the mentality of this team. IT is like they give up and dont care. The coaching staff has no answers which is scary in itself. They dont know what adjustments to make. Cappy has no clue how to make lines. It is a debacle. Some people on here can support everything this team does but as I look around the league a lot of teams do not have this problem if they are indeed a playoff team. They dig deep and play their hearts out not this team, and they never get punished for it. They need to bring some kids up and force them to play or they sit. Bottom line
- kasperrko

Nobody on here supports everything this team does. Not one of us wants to see Crappy as the coach. Not one of us wants to see Strait on the ice in an Islander sweater.

i get your point. just saying that i see and hear gm's give interviews all the time.. not him though..
- Dan Petriw

Im not disagreeing with you by any means........but i wont complain now cause i gave up my season tickets. When i was paying for 4 seats in the 200's 15 + years, yeah i wanted to hear from the horses mouth. Now, I watch and laugh, as Snow's in oh sh!t mode. Truth be told, can you really blame the guy? He was NEVER a GM, and was brought on with zero experience. Go out in the real world and apply for a job with zero experience........you'll get laughed at. Perhaps Wang is still making final decisions, and thats why heading into Snows 10th season ( i think), he's adding Shane Prince at the deadline to a "playoff roster" for a playoff push. Perhaps in his final year as majority owner Wang tightened the belt? Who knows........all I know is this is too obvious to be so simple. There has to be more that we as fans don't know.

I can understand not giving a lot of interviews, but to never hear from the GM is wrong.

Just sick of reading well what do you expect Crappy to do or Garth is doing a good job with what he has. It gets old and stale.

Strait should not see the ice for the rest of the year but that is the stupidity this coach has.

Would not make sense to me why Wang in the final year would want to tighten the belt. You would think he would want to win in his last year as owner? Garth has had plenty of time to get comfortable in his job. It's the same thing with Bailey being rushed in his first year. If Wang really is making final decisions, Garth can always leave if he is not happy. I know not easy walking away from a GM job, but Garth always has the option if he is not happy and not allowed to run things. I'm just not buying Garth has no power and especially since the new owners were brought in.

Its the only thing that makes sense. Wang doesnt care about winning.......just look at this team for the last decade plus. He's a dollars and cents guy......he's probably trying to limit his losses and instructed Snow to not add salary. Its the only thing that makes sense.

As for Snow, he's made so many poor moves as manager where do you start? I almost wish the team misses the playoffs, because i really would like to see this team start over. They have enough assets to field a competative team with a few tweaks. I just am done seeing this stale group.

He sold this team for a boatload of money and again look at the money spend on Halak, Boychuk, and Leddy. Wang is probably been pretty much out of things now.

I'd rather this team not miss the playoffs, but would be very curious what would happens if they did miss the playoffs.

Its clear the guy can't handle criticism just by his secretive nature. That to me speaks volumes about what kind of person he is. He comes off as a know it all who has done nothing to back it up.The vast majority of his moves and non moves have either hurt the team or held them back. The guy has been GM now for what ten years and hasnt even won a (frank)ing playoff round. Enough already its time to move on.

I gave up predicting that Crappy would do. A while ago I posted a sarcastic post about some ridiculous move he should make that would be incredibly stupid, then he did it.

Snow has made some good moves in his tenure, but he's dropped the ball and stood pat too many times. His failures overshadow any good moves he's made.

I dont wanna walk away from a post season spending $1000 on a crap product. This team does not have what it takes to win a round. There's just too much dead weight. To be honest, i am not even blaming the coach on this. I've heard him say the same things OVER AND OVER. At some point you can only tell your guys to do the same things, but if they refuse to do it what can you do? We all know Capuano is not the right coach, but he's saying all the right things, i just feel the boys have tuned him out.

He is an insecure backup goalie. He is just not the right guy to be a GM of a team. If only Wang hired Neil Smith to be GM and let him run the show and stayed the frank out of the way.

I'm not hearing Cappy saying the right things and Cappy gets plenty of the blame for his spin the wheel lineup changes and not sitting Strait for good.

Sums up how I feel about Snow. He has done a lot of good but his inaction at times has stifled this team. The moves he does make are questionable at times and then the coach he hired and stuck with due to his friendship with him has clearly hurt the team by throwing these questionable players into the wrong situations. Its an evil cycle. Anyone that says Snow's body of work is good is shot IMO. He started something he clearly wasnt able to finish and that cant be classified as good.

Garth adds Halak, Leddy, and Boychuk and you think he finally gets it and is ready to work and then it stops. He goes back to disappearing and hiding out and not making moves. Every few years he wakes up and then back to sleep.
