I'm wondering about those two, I've liked both recently. I wonder if Vey might be moved to wing. I think JM gets traded this offseason, it's just my opinion but we are deep up the middle and he has done well this year that including him in a package could get you something we really need (such as Hamonic). For example hutton/McCann for Hamonic would be pretty good IMO and Snow may bite given how well they've played this year. I tend to see guys go up and down but the ones that are consistently good to be rare Hamonic would be a huge push in the right direction. Begin the hate on trading both!

No need to get Hamonic for Hutton/JM.
Let other teams overpay or let Snow drag it out.
Easier to OS Lindholm n cost us maybe a 1st n 3rd only.

You gotta go and get angry at all of my honesty
You know I try but I don't do too well with apologies
I hope I don't run out of time, can someone call a referee?

Thanks Carol

What can we complain about as Canucks fans today.. Nothing really relevant or worth mentioning... OH WAIT.

Jake Virtanen went to a Justin Bieber concert. Lets all put him down and make fun of him for something that makes zero difference to his playing ability, or the team at the end of the day

Did you see him there?

Devil's advocate here.

Hamonic > Lindholm

Hamonic costs us movable assets, keeps draft picks in pipeline.
Hamonic signed to V reasonable contract, o/s would cost $$$

I don't hate the offersheet for Lindholm idea, but would have to be hefty to succeed (7) and Hamonic's is very cap friendly (3.8 for another 4 years!). But I like lindholm a lot.

There is no offensive upside to Hamonic over Tanev. There is the toughness side, but if Pedan and Tryamkin can handle the toughness duties then we don't need to give up assets for Hamonic.

I hearya.
I simply want to screw the Ducks over a lil firstly.
Rivals r rivals after all.
2nd if only costs us a 1st n 3rd thats cheap.
Hutton/JM is worth more than 1st n 3rd.
5-7yrs/5.74 is a 1st n 3rd compensation if he signs for that idk.

Edit: Hamonics contracts is awesome but i believe the price will be too high.
Best we can do is drive up the price so he comes at a premium if goes to a rival.

there is the ability to defend, another department which we also are lacking in. Sure we need more offence from the back end, seems secondary to actual defenders though. Hamonic would be an ideal replacement for hamhuis (we can even call him hammer).

Maybe so but drafting defensive D or nurturing them is easier than getting offense from them. We r pretty solid in defensive prospects atm n a D like Tanev is here already. Trading a Tanev to upgrade D is my option.

trading players that might be good for players that clearly are is the essence of pretty much every hockey trade. Offersheets tend to not happen, I'm not sure why but there has been very few (I'm guessing it's political between owners/gm's).

I thought the canucks defend game looked ok. I see the scoring part of the D that was killing us. The last few games the D has been getting points and surprise surprise we are winning more.

Getting offensively gifted D can be complimented easy enough with tandems.
A Sbisa or Tree for example can play a more straight up defensive game.
The game is about speed n mobility n puck moving now n we r improving al eit slowly.

is it really?! I think it's pretty hard to get them IMO. They keep getting Subban/Karlsson to try to learn how to defend and it's not working even though they score like crazy. It seems pretty hard to get effective defenders at the NHL level. None of our young guys look to good at it, I wish they did. I think they could be coached better but i also just think that it's much harder job than you and many others seem to give credit for.

Great example a bunch of puck movers who collectively get scored on more than us. Should we take Ottawa/EDM as a example next?

Any team in the NHL would luv PK or Karlsson.
Teams insulate those type of D properly.
Those 2 of D r rare n don't grow on trees.

nice comeback. Brodie is really good, but when you let in the most goals in the league on average, you can't just blame it on goaltending. I thought that defense would be much better this year, but they have some clear deficiencies and issue playing defense. Clearly they can score, but I'm just stating statistical facts that they get scored on/allow a lot of shots from the middle.

I don't even listen to 1040. The bashing over social media is horrendous. The only time I really listen to 1040 is when it is a edited segment with a guest speaker that I have respect for. I tend to filter out the 1040 cast and only pay attention to the guest speaker. It's just getting tiresome to see everyone get so upset over nothing, all the time.
- Codes1087

I'm with you, I will listen when someone posts an interview, otherwise...never.

I was also referring to twitter and any other social media crap, what's society come to where people need to constantly barraged with stupid twits, it's certainly not entertainment in my eyes, but to others they need that continual none stop comments from who the hell knows.

Who are these people and what relevance do they have in the real world of hockey in general.

But to each their own, if that's what people want, have at it, I just think you loose the right to complain if you buy in.(not you but people in general).

I don't care what they do on their own time as long as they play hard and compete every game. I care about their hockey skills not their choice in music or TV shows, sexual orientation. Whatever, as long as they are half decent human beings.
