i think it was more an issue of not giving him a shot at the top spot. i mean you can't really blame Therrien. DD was scoring at about an 18-point pace with Pacioretty so you don't wanna tinker with that chemistry.
- DoubleDown

That really is the only issue.

The other problem is, if you look where he scores his goals from lately they are from his off hand.

So if he were to be a winger, I think he`d make a better RW

Added to the fact, he's not missing the net by 8 feet.

Is there one where they gathered the stats from before/after he stopped trying to deke himself?

Before the team went to poop, I'm pretty sure Desharnais was playing with Weise and Fleishman.

Clearly he's a terrible winger and a great center.

Whether he's great or terrible is irrelevant. What is clear is that he's more effective than Desharnais.

right. and when the goals dried up, Desharnais got promoted. whatever, team was going to be a poop show anyway. it wasn't one or two things that went wrong. i'm just pointing out where that particular criticism comes from.

That equals 8 points over 82 games

Not a huge difference. But for arguement sake, the kid is clearly capable of playing center so why would you prefer to have him on the wing

So DD can have a spot on the roster

Anyways, since he started playing more than 14 mins a game as a center or winger he has been doing good.

Kid is hot right now and you decide to take that 10 game sample to make him look like he's suddenly a legit #1 NHL center.

I'm happy to see him score and play better hockey. Like most fans if not all of them. Up until not long ago, he was still playing like he was in the OHL. PLaying wing made him simplify his game and it looks like for now, it's translated to him also keeing things simple as a center.

If he can consistently play like this, there's no reason why he couldn't solidify his position at center.

He took a good step forward this year, he is learning and will keep improving. He will be a center from now in IMO.

Now that he is gone to center, who the (frank) will be the wingers in the top 6? Tampatch and Gallagher....who else?

What will this season bring? If they are this good now without gelling yet, imagine what they'll be like come March/April.
