I'd be totally okay with 39%.

I'm ok with his shooting % going down to 10-15%, as long as he shoots more often, like 20 shots/game...

he's a 12-13% shooter on average throughout his career. so if this uptick in shots can be sustained, no reason he can't be a 30-goal center.

Seriously...I hope they are taking video of the games and making a montage right now, to show him when he'll get into a slump. He's having success right now because he skates in the zone in a straight line and takes the shot instead of stopping at the blue line, waiting for every other player that are backchecking so he can try to deke them all.

It's pretty simple.

I think it has little to do with the "chemistry with Pacioretty" or the fact he's playing center.

Oh.

So the fact he's getting first line minutes has nothing to do with his recent successes?

My point is that he changed the way he plays. People focus too much on the "winger or center" stuff

Has he changed the way he plays because he actually has some (frank)ing talent flanking him recently?

It is all luck until game 72. We are only at 68.

Let's see how the skill works out in the last 10 games, then we can judge.

Well, if you mean Sven Andrighetto, they have played together earlier this season. As far as Captain Charisma goes, well he's pretty useless right now.

You just proved my point. It's either those fans who have him at 164 goals per season, or the complete opposite. No middle.
- hscesq

I expect him to become a 65pts player.

Good enough?

of course it does. how many of these goals have been a case of him being in good position and finishing off a nice play? both goals last night... wasn't happening when he was playing with guys like Eller, Plekanec, Weise... it's the first time Montreal has had 2 dynamic players on the same line in a very long time.

5 points in 3 games with Galchenyuk as his center. and he's set up a few of the goals with very high quality plays.

That wasn't a pass yesterday, he just tried to beat the goalie from a bad angle. The other night, he just fumbled the puck in the zone, and Andrighetto kept the play going with a good forecheck and found Galchenyuk in front of the net.

Not trying to get on Pacioretty's case, he's a good player and the Habs need him...but he's having an average season. It happens in a career.
