I'm a paramedic. Did you see how contorted his left hand was when he was trying to give a thumbs up. .... not a good sign. .... and the thumbs up was contorted as well. ...

With good c spine and hospitalization they can prevent further damage and if it's brain not spine once the hemorrhage subsides he could fully recover.

You tie the hands down to keep them from moving as party of the spinal considerations and it could have been him fighting the bonds to give the thumbs up. It was the left hand and the lack of color(white knuckles) that are scary from some things that I've seen. Hope he's ok.
