Tanev and hype are oxymorons. These are the kids that if we're stranded on a deserted island would most want grandmas sandwiches more than any other possession in the world

Are they the same as 'tree sitters'?

I was half listening to the radio today ', and heard the 1040 say Benning is going to try to get Demko on the Canucks at some point next year.

I am not sure if Benning is trying to sell tickets or secure his draft picks. One thing about JB he is a man of action. Would be intersting to know what happened at TDL. I guess we will have to wait for his memoirs to come out.

If Miller or Markstrom have an injury next season Demko will have to go in.

Filthy, unwashed hippies who sit in trees to prevent them from being cut down.

I heard a girl screaming that at security who were tossing some guy out of a festival for sneaking in, "You can't do that, he's a tree sitter!!". My buddy and I burst out laughing.

I am not sure but I think the plan is to move Miller at TDL for whatever he can get and introduce Demko.

That would be sweet if the stars aligned like that (Demko succeeding at AHL level, Miller waiving, another team wanting him!).

I could also see Miller/Markstrom finishing out next season, let Miller walk, re-sign Markstrom, bring in a Vet backup for the next season and allow Demko to start a full season in the AHL, eventually bringing him up as a backup (similar to how Schneider was handled slowly, slowly, with pretty decent results).

So what do people here think about Ek's question of the day re:
Oilers flipping 1OA Mathews to Phx for OEL.

After reading the first couple pages it seems people think OEL is worth a lot more than Mathews...i'm not sure about that personally.

I could see Edmonton moving a forward or 2 (RNH, Yak) if they get the 1OA, maybe Phx isn't the right destination, given their glut of young fwds. Maybe somewhere like Nashville makes more sense?

I'd still like to see something like Tanev/Sbisa plus Hansen/Dorssett for RNH.

Maybe a trip to sunny and green South Vancouver Island should be in your immediate plans.

I think he will be our next Shinkaruk. I don't think Grenier will play here either.

In the list that Benning said he would like to see here , Subbans name was not mentioned.

I was going to mention I played 9 on the pitch and putt today, as it is really nice in Victoria... Great place to retire

Hmmm...

so Markov > Burrows. But Markov has bigger cap hit.

Bealieu vs Sbisa. Beaulieu is younger, cheaper, but Sbisa is probably the better player

2nd > 4th obviously.

we throw in Subban to balance it out a bit?

not bad. i would think Mtl would decline though.

Because he can't play defense in the minors.
For the umpteenth time, Travis Green has gone on record saying his defensive side of the game needs a lot of work.

I think any trade with Beaulieu is a tough sell.

I agree. I doubt we ever see him on the Canucks. We drafted 3 good Dmen last year. I think try to sell him to the Habs they may have interest
