The cup is the goal. You guys have 2 of the best C's in the league. But your team is aging, youve traded away all your prospects and picks. Your time is running up, maybe a couple more years of compete left at most, so time to pick it up! Sadly most other 6.8 million dollar player would have helped you a lot more than Kessel.

Ahh so you didnt even read the article. There's a link to another article comparing him to similar paid forwards. You saw an article about Kessel and went straight to the comment section to spread your shat to make you feel better about losing your best player and not getting much in return. You probably had Kessels f'n poster on your wall.

So which right hand shot do we put on the top powerplay? Bennett? Fehr? Rust?

I can't speak for others, but I am extremely glad Kessel is far, far away, and even happier with the great return. You wouldn't get half that return for Kessel now. It's the general consensus in Toronto, I feel. Imagine Kessel teaching Nylander and Marner about hockey

Harrington is 21 year old dman. Real bust (lol). Project but could be good.
Kapanen will be good. Quite good.
We got a 2nd for Spaling.
And 16th-18th overall isn't bad at all.

Honestly, I'm plain sad for the pens. Sid deserves another cup, and Kessel is the last person to help with that. Glad he's gone and we got a good return though.

So... prove that Kap "will" be good. You don't know. No one knows.

Harrington you've already downgraded to a project... yippeeeeeee. Spaling offsets the 2nd you sent us.

So lets see... a mid to late 1st rounder, a 3rd, for Kessel with cap eaten.

Yeah... HUGE overpayment

A mid 1st, high end prospect, and big bodied promising dman prospect for an overpaid, declining, lazy, heartless, indifferent, bad role model floater signed long term? Count me in.

Mid to late 1st... your opinion of a high end prospect... A tall, slow, bottom pairing ceiling D Prospect... for a player you and the Toronto media abused for years, that you are eating cap on.

Fixed your post to remove bias and stupidity.

The same overpaid, declining, lazy, heartless floater that put up 6 points in 7 games against the bruising Bruins a few years ago when the Leafs had a semi-above mediocre team and actually made the playoffs? Or the same floater that was considered on of the tourney's best forward in the Olympics a few years ago?

you do know we have seen them all play alot longer than you. kapanen is a project that is all. if you can somehow highten his confidence to its peak he will be good other wise he is a 4th liner at best and I ain't even kidding.

Two things... fix the multi post... and no, Kap is not a 4th line ceiling.

He is a defensive forward, more suited to a 3rd line, or 2nd line depending on the team.

Not that I like feeding the trolls that make comments like that (moreover I don't have the time to have a little fun), don't feel bad because it's only the fans that are upset. Sid has won his cup & loves his team, so just doing what he loves with a Stanley Cup on the shelf is great. It's only about multiple cups if you are a fan, players get satisfaction out of a lot of other things!

Look through his achievements & you will see - the guy is an absolute legend. It's us the fans that want more because we are selfish bastards & don't appreciate what we have!

So it's ok, don't feel sorry for me as I don't want or need your pity!

I'm glad your happy though, really glad. So what's the comparison as I don't follow the Leafs that much? In the time Sid has won 1 cup (poor bastard he is because you can throw in gold medals of all sorts as well in that time ), you guys have made the playoffs once???? is that right? 1 cup for us poor Pens fans, & 1 playoff year for you happy & glad Leafs fans???

I think you guys deserve another playoff series!

I dont really like to put down the mentally challenged that can't grasp the basic concept of comparing 2 talented players that struggle with a particular skill.

Again, he is left handed.

I'm not trying to defend Kessel on the first powerplay unit, but the conversation is about wanting a right hand shot that can shoot one timers in that position. Kunitz and Daley dont work in that regard. I just dont think there is any better option. Even Schultz who is kind of a powerplay specialist, isnt very good at one timers.

Only bitter Leaf fans would consider a mid to late first round pick, a second line prospect and a 3rd pairing dman a good return for the best player by far they've had since Sundin a good return.

Toronto let Kessel down not the other way around, you had one of the best scorers in the league and could only muster one post season in 6 years. And just like Sundin when the guy didn't want to be traded you ran him out of town and decree good riddence. I'm not going to bash Leaf fans because as a Canadian I know how loyal you are to your team, but the Leafs management for the past decade has been an utter disgrace and you've all picked blaming Kessel instead of the twits who couldn't draft or build a proper team despite an unlimited budget.

It's not Kessel's game either but when now had 2 days of discussion, a full blog and 100's of comments on Kessel not being good at it. Letang's becomes relevant to the conversation because the supporters of Kessel changing stick bring up that ever NHL player should be at least competent at shooting 1-timers, defenseman actually use 1-timers far more often than forwards as well.
- jaydogg1974

How many players on the Penguins would you actually say are good at one timers and use them frequently?

Sounds like Fehr and Hags in for Friday. Bennett back next week and possibly Lovejoy back soon too. It's time to win some games or fall flat on their faces. Sick of the inconsistencies.

Could you put Shultz there? Isn't he right handed? Seems to have a good shot and if an offensive minded player.
