NHL games= ZIP. Making the NHL as a defencemen is pretty hard, if 1 of those 3 are ready, canucks will be lucky, considering our defensive pool 3 months ago. There are only 2 actual top 4 NHL players on that d corps

JB would be crazy to expect that Pedan and larsson and Try are all NHL ready. I would think JB goes out in FA with the extra salary and picks up a top 4 guy, unless they are truely embracing the tank. The only guy I see making the team next season is Try. Pedan has had 1 call up, Larsson is small and seems soft imo

Does anyone have any idea how the intricacies of signing college free agents work?

I read a few posts from a few sites around the Canucks having shoddy cap management (though nothing seemed too bad..I think Edler on LTIR solves everything) and I don't fully understand either how the cap works with LTIR or how the 50 contract limit works.

We can take 6 contracts on the team right now, correct? And we can use cap space this year to offer to burn a year of an entry level deal as an enticement for players to come and sign with us? How much space do we have for this?

But this is only for our draft picks and undrafted players, right? We'd have to wait until July 1st to try to pry other folks? This is why we traded for Larsen's rights...to get first crack at him?

Wasn't Horvat a Gillis pick? still an amazing amount or talent for 2 drafts and 3 minor trades.

We aren't losing Pedan to waivers. Larson and Tree didn't leave the KHL to ride the bus in Utica. Barring trade, all 3 are on the roster. Goodbye, weber, Bart and Biega

So on one hand I agree, on another every year guys get chosen later (karlsson 17th) in the first round than other guys of the same position that weren't considered the BPA at the time. If were picking top-3 then ya I hope he doesn't pick d any other number, why not?

Nope....nothing but they've identified Gaunce, Grenier, Pedan & Zalewski as kids they want to look at over this last month in the season. If there's a spot they can play ie: injuries.
