How did they make out that season?
- LeftCoaster

Last season of the Messier dynasty. GM place was (frank)ing empty. The wife and I got a good deal for upper bowl seats.

MG was a hot mess.
- bloatedmosquito

He'd be a better player, in my opinion, if he'd get 18 minutes of ice, not 24.

i want to see Edler traded in the off season. Stupid MG should have traded him at the draft a few years back to Detroit...

Well we still had Voldemort (Messier) so not well.
- SRam19

That's why I'm so jaded. I've only been eye witness to a steady rise to prominence. Every season got better and better other than the turd Nonis laid. That seemed like the team had direction and the ability to replace falling stars.

I don't know what the (frank) I've been watching since 2011. Implosion.

When we bottom out here next year I'm thinking of getting in on the action.

What I was getting at is with all the negativity, you included, you still bought in. I know they finished poorly that year but you could see the potential with some good young players coming up.

Naslund (27), Bertuzzi (25), Morrison (25), Jovo (24), Ohlund (23), Henrik & Daniel (19), Bryan Allen (20) … all those guys were on the 2000/01 team.

If Benning continues to build through the draft, which IMO he's done an excellent job, I can see a solid team in three to five years.

Funny thing, my lasting memory from that season was Harold Druken. Go figure.

He was that season's Bo Horvat.

(frank) tanknation, (and why do you put the number symbol before), I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm cheering for a win, but if they loose, better for drafting position.

Agree. See my comment above.

Saying that, I was young, stupid, no kids, with a lot of money.

Right when you bought your tickets the team was terrible, your memory needs a larger widow to look thru if all your can remember is good times. Those early 90's teams were fantastic until they dismantled it, finishing fourth last in 1998 and third last in 1999.

There's a good base of kids coming up and it appears they're only going to add to that over the next couple of seasons.

PK Subban reminds me of Jovo a bit, somewhat of a train wreck with his decisions but man was he fun to watch…tough too

Yup…I like that Benning is a builder, my opinion, he knows kids and he's assembling a good young core of players.

His decisions to TRY and make the team competitive last year and this year could have come from his belief in the Sedins still being world-class player or it could've come from the Aquilini family…who knows.

I've heard that term before, in my day a hash tag was the symbol on the Black Afgan or blonde or red Lebanese hash.

Way to steal a perfectly good term and misuse it, (frank) twitter

I hope McCann has a goal and three assists, Virtanen gets a hatty, Bo is a plus player and Markstrom gets the shutout
