Would you like to trade for Bonnino?
Sutter has more goals and he has only played 20 games - CanuckDon
Hmmmm. Sutter seems like the better player this season for sure, but we also included a 2nd and Clendenning...not sure what was happening behind the scenes with him (he's been traded multiple times this year) but if he was reasonable to work with as a player I might have have preferred the defensive depth and the better draft choice...but Sutter seems very promising...I have hope we'll win this trade.
This was one trade analysis at the time...something to look back on in a couple of years:

wtf is wrong with you?
We are currently tied for the 5th pick, how the (frank) is it too early to say 5th or 6th? - Scooby_Doo
Technically it's 7th n can drop as far as 10th.
Win the lotto n all top 3 r no brainers.
Tkachuk idk i prolly take Chychrun.
I've no problem trading down to 10-12th.
The deal would have to make sense.
Any of Sergachev Juolevi Fabbro Bean in order i take.
Dubois is the one player that intrugues me most.
Tufte is another along with Niemalainen |

We got Sutter and a third for a second and two fringe NHL players

We actually swapped a late second for an early 3rd...Bonnino is brutal. He didn't fit with the future of the team which is clearly being built around youth and speed....and hopefully a little more size
Edit. Appreciate you digging up the link, read it before. I visit Canucks Army primarily for prospect commentary. They are very negative on the new management group and the only trade I remember them saying "may" be a win was the Vey trade. They are wrong 90% of the time, every time |

OK, so can't call the Sedins "sisters" anymore around here.. Apparently that gets people banned. Sensitive bunch.
Anyways, I'd really like to see the canucks trade them. I don't see them retiring for another 4-5 years which is a long time before officially beginning a rebuild.
Is the plan seriously to keep them around till they retire? Can the fans wait that long to start winning? - Razzdazzle1
we all would like to see the Sedins traded, maybe you should do your homework on th canucks though, or just go back to watching the flames |

We have 2-3 less wins than everyone, which is the ultimate tie breaker. Sure we have 2-3 games in hand, but if you lose those games, they really don't matter now do they?
We aren't dropping to 10th. Worse case I could see is 8th, and that is absolute worse case imo. I would be surprised/disappointed if we didn't end up with top 5 (before lottery of course). |

Bonino's had a bad season, but he's injured. He did Ok here...probably a medium, 3rd line centre...wouldn't say he's fringe...Clendenning was once a top-end D prospect...again not sure if he'll make the show, but I'd take him over Biega right now.
Sutter...again we don't really know what we have yet. Looks good, but 20 games is not a good insight into how a player is gunna do. |

We could always take Fabbro at 5th and use future considerations from whoever picks 6th to acquire Dane Fox |

I noticed that last night, I think we have 25 regulation wins, lowest in pacific haha. |

I would much rather keep whatever pick we end up getting. Fabbro is not even on my brain when considering the other draft eligible D-men that will be available before him. There are players that are going to fall into the early 2nd rounds that are projected to go around the #20 mark so I really don't like the idea of trading down to get a guy. Apart from the consensus top 3 picks, I would like us to draft Juolevi/Chychrun with our first pick (between 7-10th overall). I really am not sure they will even be available around then. |

Bonnino and Clendenning have something in common. Brutal skaters.
We do know what we have in Sutter, he has been around awhile now |

JB is likely going for sergacheyv ...bit of a theme developing....that would make three Russian d men acquired under his watch |

After seeing Bonino for one month, I didn't like him. ( my opinion)
Clendenning was 10/11 on our weak depth chart.
Sutter will be playing on the top line next year as per Linden. I think we did fine |

I wouldn't under any circumstances trade the twins ever. I still think all the stats say they are really good...check out Daniel's goal average when they are down by a goal...guy is still pretty damn good. One thing I don't think most folks understand is how unbelievably difficult contract negotiations can go and how lucky the Canucks are in many ways. I don't think we've ever signed an "anchor" contract $$$-wise in the past few years (Luongo's years being the MAJOR exception).
The twins NEVER cashed-in in Vancouver considering what they could have gotten on the open market. All the hardware they have? Still only getting $7mil.
Can't stand the Burrows signing? Remember he was getting $2 mil when he was scoring 35 goals. These things might suck today, but they have an impact on players signing here today as well...
