Who knows what players JB will be targeting in the draft. we hear all about wanting those lottery picks and then hear years later how this or that player was passed over by all these teams and picked later in the draft.
trading down a few spots doesn't sound too far fetched to me, if it does happen, I'd guess it would be a move that happens just before the Canucks turn to pick.
I kept on seeing us in the 8th spot with one of those draft simulators and can't guess who JB likes. - hillbillydeluxe
Same here n i ponder daily who we pick. Figure 5-7 likely.
I just cannot get wound up much about the draft past the 1st. |

Highly intelligent. U have some more? - Nighthawk
In a rebuild you want to trade a potential top 3 or 5 pick who could be a franchise player to get some defenseman ranked anywhere from 15-22nd because he shoots right handed?
Dumbest post of the season. Congrats. |

First round you take BPA.. Especially if we're top 5.. If it happens to be a D man the you take him but you don't draft by position that high up |

I've been saying this for as long as my ban has been lifted...BPA with your first pick. You can't pass on a first line forward to draft a D prospect simply because it's an organizational need. Then, unless there is a serious dark horse Benning wants, pick all D.
Benning essentially validated my opinion several weeks ago |

Outside of the top 3 this draft u pick needs. Tkachuk is fine for the right team.
We r not that team IMO. Overloaded on LHD if none moved. We want speed n skill up front n highly mobile puck moving D. |

I stated in the other post. If we ended up with a top 3 pick, I would go BPA between Matthews, Laine, Pulj. If we land 4-10, I would choose the Best D-man available between Chychrun and Juolevi (sp?). I know there are some really good gritty forwards to choose from but I think drafting a D-man in the first round (outside the top 3) would be pretty useful. I think Benning needs to also draft D throughout the next draft. Apart of Olson/Brisbois/Neil, he hasn't really drafted many D-men in his 2 years here has he? |

Daniel Sedin is a disaster. - Marwood
I know. He's got the worst +/- in the league, is in the bottom 97% in terms of Corsi and Fenwick and is one of the worst league-wide in terms of giving up a goal when his team is leading by 1. |

I agree. After the top 3 saying BPA is stupid. Was Boesser BPA?
As for picking D its a tough call n JB will sort it out. Trades could
could happen yet n a more clear picture ahead. |

.Utan efst 3 Þessi drög u velja þörfum. Tkachuk er fínn fyrir rétta liðið.
Við r ekki að liðið er. Mikið á LHD ef enginn flutt. Við viljum hraði n færni upp fyrir framan n mjög hreyfanlegur plata flytja D. - Nighthawk

He drafted Tree, Forslingand traded for Pedan - CanuckDon
Absolutely right about Tree and Forsling.
Lets try not to bring up Forsling please
I have faith in Benning's ability to analyze talent. He has proven me wrong in any trade/acquisition that I have doubted. |

BPA is a good strategy, but teams have different lists of who they want to draft after perhaps the top 3... |

That was probably his worst trade...but it definitely made sense. I would be surprised if Forsling ever makes the NHL though so it likely won't cost us |

It is funny that after we had Clendening, other clubs wanted/traded for him.

we can't even say we lost that trade. We can look back in 5 years, maybe, to see if there is a winner.
Benning was super handcuffed for a D-man at the time, and it didn't seem like a bad trade. |
