If Oilers win lottery again and we get 6th... Do we trade our first and Demko for first overall?

That's exactly what I said.
Don't know much about Triamkyn, but a lot of people are expecting him to be tough and a fighter just because he's big. There haven't been many Russians over the years who fit that description.

At best, i'm just hoping he can turn into a pre-injury version of Alexei Emelin.

I noticed this last season and this season he has regressed further. BUt also that the 1st 1/3 this season he was great. Obviously he cant play the bulk of games anymore.
He was leaky on 3 of the goals on 1,3 and 4. The 2nd was a difficult shot for anyone.

He should be a backup only from here on. We should have better games from him that way.

Why is the staff still playing him as a #1?

If only we had a better coach, Miller would be a stud.

I really don't think we should trade up. I really don't want to trade Demko either. Him and Boeser are having insane years for their clubs.

Also, Da Tree must be pretty confident in his ability to stick in the league as the remainder of this season burns off one of the two years of his ELC, making him an RFA next summer

Better have a good 90 or so games if he wants to be an NHL regular

I would dangle Demko, but asking price would be high to get me to move him. It isnt like the Canucks only have Miller and career backups in the system, Markstrom is developing right in time for the transition and getting an impact forward like Matthews would be worth it in my books

So you would offer Demko + our 1st for TOR's 1st?

The questions being asked by fans to Linden and Benning at the town hall. female doging and whining about everything and anything from what I'm reading on the live Twitter feed.

Thanks lefty, just some guy that is looking to criticize canuck fans and not his own teams fans stupid comments.

I would consider it if the Canucks' #1 was low enough, but doubtful. I just mean I would entertain the idea. The team still looks pretty good in net without Schneider, if Demko is Schneider 2.0, it would be a tough loss but Matthews is a player the organization lacks and I would really work hard to find a way to get him if I were in charge

I can see your point. I just see some really talented players in the 5-10 range who COULD be really good players for us one day.

Tkachuk/Dubois/Chychrun/Sergachev/Nylander

It is confirmed Boeser will play one more year atleast of UND hockey, and Demko will give us an answer this summer. Apart from Markstrom, we have Demko and that is it. Miller is gone after next year and I would love another good goalie prospect. It would be awesome if Benning can sign that Lyon kid from Yale. Having an outstanding year and would be "free".

Linden should stop doing town halls...this fanbase is lucky to have so much communication from the organization and seem to take it for granted. If I was Linden I would only do one per year and put the fans in the dark for awhile. Focus on building the team and not on appeasing the hysterical masses

Darnell Nurse has a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
The reasoning for the hearing is under Rule 46.2 (Aggressor) for an altercation with San Jose's Roman Polak on Tuesday night.

just watched it... polak got his bell rung

46.2 Aggressor – The aggressor in an altercation shall be the player who
continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on his
opponent who is in a defenseless position or who is an unwilling
combatant.
A player must be deemed the aggressor when he has clearly won
the fight but he continues throwing and landing punches in a further
attempt to inflict punishment and/or injury on his opponent who is no
longer in a position to defend himself.
A player who is deemed to be the aggressor of an altercation shall
be assessed a major penalty for fighting and a game misconduct.
A player who is deemed to be the aggressor of an altercation will
have this recorded as an aggressor of an altercation for statistical and
suspension purposes.
A player who is deemed to be both the instigator and aggressor of
an altercation shall be assessed an instigating minor penalty, a major
penalty for fighting, a ten-minute misconduct (instigator) and a game
misconduct penalty (aggressor).

At the time JB signed Miller i thought well we have no proven starter n this is as good as it gets. Didn't like the 6m per at the time but we had cap space n I thought what da heck. Miller was a big reason we made the playoffs n loved it when LA did not.
Playoff performance sucked yes but we got there n the draft went ok.

Now to the present I'm guessing the 3yr contract instead of 2 would've been ideal but to hard to say if Miller would sign then. Retrospectively idc if he were here next season but idk if it matters much since this season shows rebuilding is a priority more than the playoffs. If the kids perform n grow n we make the playoffs thats very good n bodes well. If not thats fine also.

I dont disagree that it wouldnt be bad to draft in the top 10, the difference is we know someone like Matthews will be an NHLer right away and as a C makes other assets available to fill other positions. I would only make that kind of move if the values were fair though, not go all-in for #1

Matthews isn't Connor McDavid or Crosby, Markstrom isn't proven that he can handle the full load yet. He may never will, so losing Demko for a center when we're loaded with them makes no sense. Not to mention, I'd never trade for the first overall unless the one who holds it WANTS to trade down and we have a surplus in what that team needs.

If we got the first overall, and I was JB, I'd be shopping it to TB and see if they'd give us Hedman and their first since they're likely losing Stamkos and could use an elite center to replace him. You get Hedman and now your D is set and you now can use your cap space and what assets you have to upgrade elsewhere.

He might not be Crosby or McDavid, but as it was mentioned before, if he was born a couple days earlier he wouldve been in talk to go ahead of Eichel and be already in the NHL. He has speed and size, experience against men, and is doing extremely well in a very skilled league. I dont see a player on the Canucks roster or system that would be a better player than him by the time his entry level deal ended.

Also with losing Demko, were most not disappointed by Markstrom's ability prior to working with Rollie? He is capable of developing goaltenders, there is a surplus of them in the league (which was why moving Schneider and Luongo was difficult), so yes I would go after a gamebreaker, just as I would target Stamkos in free agency, if all is fair you should go for the BPA.

NAIS! I heard the contract was around 950k AAV for 2 years(so you have to think JB thinks he has a decent shot of playing on this team) With an out back to the KHL. Sounds like he'll give NHL a shot, then go back to the KHL if it doesnt work out...doesnt seem like he has an interest in Utica.
Varying reports on his size too, canucks describe him as 6'8" some are 6'7" and I've seen 6'6" has he just been growing the last couple years? A good sign that he can skate

- Crazybagoham

thats because someone screwed up on the conversion. He is 202 cm. convert to inches....80.8....divide by 12 for feet....6.733333333 he is 6'7 and a bit.

for all those who want to see him score, hit and fight....here he is
