And people are saying that Sutter is a sure-fire #2C with us after 20 games...I'd give it a year to be sure...
- Ronning4ever

I mentioned that Sutter is a 2c.
To flesh that out a bit.... He had a great start to the year, played well with Sedins on top line, showed good wheels SBD hands
But really, he's a 2c on this years team, not a surefire.
He is better than Bonito and a better fit that Bo at this point

I think JB might have said he was going to play 2c, but I haven't seen many say he was sure fire or a lock at 2c. Always thought Bo was being groomed for 2c and Sutter was more of a 3c who could slide up if need be, maybe fill the role until Horvat was ready.

Canucksarmy is an interesting site... I like to read it, but I never get the impression the writers really like the Canucks or the players on the team... very passive aggressive..

Yeah, I wouldn't know...CA said something about his possession stats dipping in Pitt from when he was in Car...was looking those up last night when I was taking a look at Bo's numbers (god help me that was rough) and he seems to be doing better in the 20 games he played so far...

CA was really good for player analysis when they had MoneyPuck writing for them, but he left to work for Florida.

The writers at Canucks Army worship Botchford...not much journalistic integrity there. The lead editor/ writer is a Leafs fan living in TO

Actually Pitt traded him to Ana and they put him on waivers, no one wanted him but nighthawk.

Careful on all the excitement about having Pedan, Trymakin and Larsen all making the team next year. It's an easy assumption because Benning traded for them and they'll likely all be ineligible to be sent to Utica for various reasons.

But last year when they dumped Bieksa's body overboard, it was a certainty that they were going to have a young guy take that job. Both Corrado and Clendening were signed and looked like they'd be battling for that spot, but neither were here for opening night. Instead it was Weber who got it and look how great that turned out.

We don't need a #1 center?

It should be readily apparent to anyone who watched the game last night, the last thing this team needs is more Fleecy soft forwards.

Have learned the #Canucks have signed defenseman Nikita Tryamkin to a 2 year entry level cap deal.

There is no way under gods green earth they trade either. Both are considered to be steals in terms of cap hit. Hansen can play on any line, is very cap friendly and has an NTC - they didn't even consider trading him and his value has never been higher; Tanev is a home grown solid stay at home Dman signed to a good cap hit for term.

Benning might try to overpay for a up and coming Dman or try to find value in a reclamation project...maybe he'll try to get a lockerroom veteran with poor numbers and play younger guys...those two likely stay.

- Ronning4ever

Yeah we better hang on to slightly above average players . We wouldn't want to finish worst than our bottom 7

I don't think RNH deserves the soft label.
I for one would be good with RNH, Bo, Sutter down the middle.

Bottom of the league. Bottom 97% in corsi and fenwick. One of the bottom ten players in the league in terms of giving up goals when leading by 1. Have been on the ice for SEVENTY goals against on a team thats given up 190.

Actually, wait...

Why would stupid Benning give Tryamkin 2 years and Dane Fox no years?

God no. You'd think the goal of the game was to win! And obviously finishing at the bottom of the standings, year after year works very well...can't think of a single of example of where that has panned out very poorly...

Hansen is a good third liner . He is having a career year and his value will never be higher. After next year he will be 30 years old and want a big raise. Let's not make the same stupid mistake we did with Vrbata and wait too late to try and sell.

Ummmm...goals against means the other team scores...against the Canucks. Trust me, I've seen it with the player in question in the game...there's been ample opportunity to do so...lots. The only reason why I haven't seen it all 79 times is cause I can't stomach it.

I always assume the writers at CA don't watch the game.

But I thought Carol was writing a few articles there and started trying to pay more attention to it, but haven't seen any of her stuff there lately.

They must be making some money because of the advertising but they don't come across as all that professional.

Signed for two more years...good third liner and can play solid with the twins, on the second line and cheap. Plays a good bread and butter game. If the team does OK next year (which doesn't look that difficult) he'd be a great piece to have for another year. If it's even worse next year than this, I'd agree with you...and he'd probably want out anyways.

if you like points for 10 games, then nothing for the rest of the season.
