Tavares isn't as far from being the #1C as you might think. This link is from last year, but he was top 5 in the league in scoring chances created per 60:

The biggest knock against him is his Corsi Against numbers, but that's what you have zone deployment for. When you factor in his ridiculously low cap hit, how many centers in the league are more valuable? I would take Tavares at $5.5M before I'd take Toews at $10.5M.

no. vrbata has a limited ntc .... so demand will be limited. he's coming back here in July in any event.

boedker's speed is a limited asset on the trade market, so i expect a good return.

What good is speed if you are worse than tons of guys who are less fast? Boedker could have his talent harnessed, but he's horrible when he doesn't have the puck and needs constant sheltering.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone over pays for him, but he's not worth a first rounder IMO. Vrbata is a better all-round player, gets more shots, more goals, better D.

A team who wanted to win this year could do much worse than RV.

Oilers aren't taking on more prospects. Want players to help them win now. Plus, of all guys, why trade Yakupov ? He'll get back a horrible return on a first overall pick. Trade someone who someone else will pay for. If they were trading Yakupov, i doubt he'd ever skate with anyone besides Connor.
