I kind of like the upside of Boedker. Is he ever going to be better than a guy like Hagelin? I dont know, he definitely hasnt lived up to the hype yet. But he's a young, fast, top 6 LW. Since we aren't going to get a powerfoward, speed may be a good route. If we can re-sign him that would give us Boedker, Hagelin, Kessel, Sprong, Hornqvist, Kunitz. That's a lot of speed on the wings.
edit: yes, we would have to have the money from Dupuis LTIR to sign him. If he's looking at $5M+, forget it. - YouMeAndDupuis9

I would give him a 1 year bridge deal so he can prove that he is a good player for us. then sign him for term if he is good

Stay away from guys like PA. They will be available me this summer and will not be a big enough difference maker to trade a 2nd pick for. If you are going to spend, spend bigger for youth. Dallas reportedly listening on offers for Nichuskin. That's a big one. Weircioch is also a guy I like. Still don't think enough people are talking about Justin Schultz either. Could be had for almost nothing and is a good right shot bottom pairing guy who has really big upside.
Wiercoch could be a cheaper option at a cost of $2M this year and an RFA next. He's only 25 y/o, big body and has potential. Just not a fit in the Ottawa system. Ottawa is on the hunt for a top 6 LW and the only one I see that could fit the bill would be Kunitz.
Schultz made $3.9M last year and is also a 25 y/o with a lot of potential. I just don't see Edmonton trading him for nothing. Edmonton would be better off signing him and then possibly trade him in the off season. They have a lot invested in him and I can't see Pittsburg wanting to take too much back in salaries.

I'm a Kessel supporter and I do that trade in a heart beat. Which means Peg wouldn't consider it. |

We should just trade sammy87 to the Rangers board for RangerDanger. At least he's an entertaining troll. |

Kessel has a list of 8 teams. The only plausible ones I can see are Minnesota, NYR or the Habs.
Would Minny give up Spurgeon in a deal for Kessel? Then we could deal Maatta/Pouliot for an impact winger.
Would anyone here be interested in dealing Kessel to NYR for Nash?
Maybe Kessel for Patches? |

Sammy has negative value though. We'd have to add some value. Add Palmer as a throw in so that the Rangers board agrees to take on Sammy's contract. I don't think Palmer's ever coming back anyways. |

Nash? God no. Paccioretty has one of the best contracts in the league. Montreal is having issues scoring, and Patches is the only one that can actually do it. They won't trade Paches unless they decide to blow it all up and start from scratch. |

What about sammy, Palmer, and grinder47 (The poster not the gay hookup app.) For Ranger danger and future considerations. Maybe a blog here and there from the Rangers guy about the Pens. I think that's a fair deal. |

Yeah I doubt Kessel is going to Peg. I think Wild are in cap trouble so that rules them out. For some reason I thought once Kessel is moved, his trade list is void, but I dont think thats the case anymore.
The + would have to be DP, BB or something else though. Pens would have the cap to get Okposo then. |

If pens go after Boedker then horn or kuni will be going back. If I had to pick I'd say kuni of course.
Boedker Sid horn/Kessel
Hags Geno Kessel/ horn
Is pretty decent then add a guy like versteeg for a 2nd/3rd (forget what they wanted for him)
Bennett Cullen versteeg
Wilson fehr rust
Sheary/Kuhn
As for D. I still think you go after either fowler or vatanen |

Out of those 3 I feel like Versteeg is the only one attainable for the Pens. They just don't have the assets for Boedker, or Vatanen. And fowler I don't want anything to do with. |

I honestly think the first Domino is Boedker to Chicago. I think that's Chicago's #1 target. I think Peg is holding out waiting on that deal to fall through to see if Chicago circles back around to Ladd. Cus it seems like Peg already has a couple of overpayments lined up for Ladd and it perplexes me they haven't taken the money and ran yet |
