Yea, I really think there is.

Wonder how that info was revealed, probably by an agent? Might just be driving up price ((frank)ing babcock has made me so cynical )

He wants to play here, or just would play here?
- Cup Crazy '07

I was told he "wants to play here"

Of course it's 3rd hand info. But it's reliable. Same person who told me a bunch of info about the Pegulas

How many people have a blind hatred for Bogo?
- sbroads24

No hate, just don't have any interest in acquiring someone that equates to an injury-prone Petry at 5.2mil per for another 4 years.

I kind of like it.

UFA was designed to give players the right to go to where they want to. Why should it be different for draft eligible players?

- rmiethaner

Because no one would want to go to Arizona to play hockey. Or Edmonton for that matter. At least in Edmonton you can get some guys from the area, but then you'd have to compete with Calgary and to a somewhat lesser extent Vancouver and Winnipeg.

So, don't kill the messenger, but Stamkos wants to play here. It's good info. Take it or leave it
- sbroads24

Closest place to play to home that isn't the Leafs.

He's skating, and he went on the trip so he can't be that far out.
- Sabresfan-365

That's kind of what I was thinking. He was at practice today to albeit in the red jersey, but still there with the rest of the team.

Interesting piece by Travis Yost last year about eliminating the draft. I think that it could be a lot more interesting, like college football recruiting, but with cap ramifications.

It would be a horrible idea. You don't eliminate tanking, people just have to learn to deal with it.

I have no idea, was hoping you'd fill in the blanks. Need bottom 6 help? Foligno? Larsson is great defensively but non existent offensively. Take a chance on McGinn?

Pysyk, Foligno, 2nd and maybe a prospect?

- Sabresfan-365

Pysyk and girgensons. Kind of a lot, but eberle would give us the ability to not hope for lottery luck. That means ennis is gone too, theres no way murray keeps both.

No, a while ago around the time they purchased the Bills.

Larsson is pretty much Lander and Foligno hasn't done enough to make me think he's much more than a 4th liner on a competitive team.

This is gonna be heavily biased as it's hard for me to value anything other than legit top-4 Dmen as they should be in any move for one of Eberle, Hall, or Nuge, but a package of some combination of Pysyk, Girgensons, Bailey, and picks is what I'd consider.

Realistically, the two teams just aren't good trading partners. Maybe a 3-way deal, but those are rare.

Cool! Hope it comes to fruition. I think we may see how hard they want to go after him based on what we do this week and at the draft.

But does he want to play here more than he wants to play in Tampa or Toronto? That's the real question.

After taxes that would be less than what Tampa offered. He won't get less than 10.5.

I don't think Eberle would fetch anything more than pysyk and girgensons as a package.

Even so, aren't injured players allowed to be traded? Like he might not be healthy by deadline day but maybe a week after it?
- Sabresfan-365

They are but I doubt a playoff team will want to risk trading for a guy whose hurt and has term left when they can just get a rental D from somewhere else.

I'd go Pysyk, Larsson, and 2019 1st. Hope to hell we'll be good by then. But Edmonton would never go for it.

He can likely be packaged with another asset to address the defense more comprehensively, though. Or they keep him which affords them the luxury of trading a Nuge instead. Or they keep him and maintain status quo while overpaying Jason Demers in the offseason...

I could see a lot of people wanting to play in Buffalo, but realistically can also see it taking another year or two before it's realistic to see quality players make that choice over so many other places.

And this isn't being said to have people list examples of others who have - none that have were former 50 goal scorers.

He'll get at least $10M per. At least.
