At one point,
Yakupov prob could've gotten any of those guys
Looks like they waited too long
Maybe with a change of scenery Yak can get back on track, but at this point I can't imagine he has much trade value

I really liked him coming out of Juniors too
Tough to figure out why he's having so much trouble, especially since he had pretty good success early on

I'd take a shot for the right price

- jdfitz77

After his rookie year he could've. But let's also not forget that despite the young names in the roster, we were actually a pretty low scoring team. I can understand being apprehensive to deal a kid with his release

Either way, it went downhill fast and he doesn't bring much now. i think they're not even neccesarily hoping to add quality defence if they deal him. Probably be open to adding a defensively responsible middle 6'er that isn't a total offensive anchor.

5.1 for 4 more seasons

That's just too much. 11 mil on a second d-pair prevents us from signing rfa's or acquiring a top 2 d. We traded Petry over 5.5 mil.

spector says kreider may be on the block

give them mcginn plus and make him a fixture on lw

- homiedclown

Really?
I wonder why they'd wanna move him?
It's not like he's been bad or has a big contract they wanna get rid of...
Weird

I'd definitely make a call about him

Edmonton is in a weird spot.

The guys they are going to trade at the deadline are not worth top 4 d-men.

The core may not get what people are wanting.

- ImThatGuy

tough spot for sure

If we can get a 2nd for either of Purcell and Schultz we'll take it and run.

And yeah, who knows what we can get for the core? I mean there's probably a lot of apprehension around players that have been losing for so long. Talented or not

I think In the offseason we should be putting on a full court press for two of trouba, hamonic, brodin , shattenkirk

And use nuge and the first to get it done
Or
Ebs and the first

(Add ins from either side in different scenarios)

But as you said, who knows....
Do the isles want forwards or picks for hamonic?
Do the jets for trouba?
Would shattenkirk resign with us?

:

Clever

My first thought was to offer Schultz straight up, but id rather just the cap space when Schultz goes

Worth a try tho. We are pretty desperate

Kreider is a Kane clone. Super fast, big and strong, not great hockey sense

There may not be much of a discrepancy, but some of us want to know, is there a distinction or a difference?

Distinction can be argued, but difference? Absolutely.

All kidding aside, Kreider isn't a great finisher. I think we need a sniper

If Eberle is in fact available, I don't know how we don't go all in.

He may not fit the "heavy" profile that GMTM is espousing, but we can't get a whole roster of Clydesdale's, can we?

I'm ok with that though
Not everyone on the team is gonna be able to "think it" like Reinhart or O'Reilly

If Kreider can mesh with Eichel, create some space & be a net front presence... That frees up Girgensons to be our 3rd line center,
And that would be a group down the middle that could match up with any team in the league

Idk what they'd want...
But I like the idea quite a bit
Can't really teach size & speed. I've always liked his game

Not sure EDM and Buf make great partners. If it's a wing swap, Ennis + for Eberle, then I guess. Why they'd do it, I couldn't tell you.

Sign me up...
And if potentially set the lines up something like

Kane-O'Reilly-Reinhart
Kreider-Eichel-Ennis
(Draft pick)-Girgensons-Bailey (eventually)
Foligno-Larsson-Deslauriers (Baptiste, Rodrigues)

That could really free us up to move Fasching (our best trade piece IMO) for a young partner for Risto

He's not
Elliott & Kypreos were saying how the Oilers won't even listen to calls on Eberle now bc he's playing so well with mcdavid

I can only assume they're looking to deal nuge and/or the first before eberle for a few reasons. One of which you stated

But I'd guess that he'll become available if they can't get a deal done for the aforementioned assets first

I think many players are going to play well with him.

If Eberle could land a Jacob Trouba, I think they would listen

Everyone not named Mcdavid should be available. Good 1 for 1 hockey trades are what should have been done as soon as the current formula was obviously not working and had no hope of righting itself.

That could be true
But I doubt they do any big moves before they see where they're drafting this year
It's gonna be a good enough pick that they could either add a piece to their group, or if they aren't happy with where they're picking they could move that pick for a defenseman & keep guys like Eberle & RNH

They could also be in a spot where they just pick Chychrun & call it a day
U already have Nurse, & Klef...
That's a nice group, even if young
Add a couple solid Vets with Sekera & your defense looks a heck of a lot better

Although, I think goalie could still be an issue for u guys

Offer up a realistic deal to make the oilers better for hall and I'm sure they'd consider it

Why would they accept anything less than an oel or hedman type for him?

And I'm sure these frameworks around 1 for 1 is exactly what they're looking at. (Small add in here or there are fine)

Nuge for shattenkirk
