Nobody is forgetting that Edmonton is the king of tanking. Buffalo and Arizona are probably a distant second after last year, and Toronto is rapidly catching up.

Tanking has been done by many, many teams. The issue here is Toronto's hypocrisy in denying what they're doing after they've taken so many other teams to the woodshed for it. What Toronto has done so far this season is literally almost identical to what Buffalo did last year, and yet they call it, "Losing with dignity" while they called us, "An embarrassment to the league"

I'm quite surprised how well Arizona is doing this year. Their rookies have similar numbers to ours and we have arguably better players... Bit of a head scratcher...

Then again I didn't expect Carolina or New Jersey to be anywhere close to the playoffs so...

That's funny because I saw a lot of buffalo fans trolling leaf blogs about trading low key players and now a blog about it. Yes it reeks of jealously and hatred. Leafs are last place and I'm on a high horse apparently. We're dead last with them on our team or not. Toronto's been bad for years and now that they are a bottom 3 team and guaranteed a good pick its only natural for other fans to complain about the leafs and the one positive they have

Again, my issue isn't with what is being done within the organization. I've said it probably a dozen times now. I get the process. My issue isn't jealousy or hatred. It's frustration over how most Toronto fans were screaming about how much of a disgrace Buffalo was to the NHL last year but yet this year, when your team is doing the SAME THING, it's fine and there's no issue with it.

What your doing isn't the problem, it's how you view it in comparison to what Buffalo did last year.

Actually tried to win beyond that (started actually signing free agents - secondary ones- but they were the only ones that would come) and never actually finished last again. They just won the lottery twice

I think you missed the entire point of this write up. He was comparing the Sabres last year to the Leafs this year. Saying that the Canadian media bashed the Sabres for the same thing the Leafs are doing right now but the Canadian media looks the other way when the Leafs are doing it. I really wouldn't call that jealousy.

I get what you're saying, but the main difference here, is that Hall and Nuge are both #1 overalls. Reinhart and Eichel are both #2s.

And, as for the jealous he keeps talking about, what is there to be jealous of exactly? Nobody would swap Eichel, Reinhart, or Risto for anything in the Leafs organization. This ridiculous concept that Marner and Nylander already have a cup locked up is astounding.

The leafs suck on purpose though. Big difference from just sucking because of talent. If the management wanted to they could be a middle of the pack team this year but they are tanking just like many others before them have.

Disagree. There's a minor drop off after Tkachuk at four and an even bigger one after the two D's and Nylander at 7.

Id make the argument that our tear down began in 12-13. I mean if it was a full season we probably end up somewhere in the bottom 5 or even 3.
