With the power play underperforming I don't understand why Claude " I constantly shuffle lines" julien doesn't change the first pp unit. Marchand has been a beast and he is wasted on the second unit. Swap Marchand with krejci |

I've got be honest here. I've been listening to sports hub a lot lately as I am hoping to hear a trade come across the radio....I don't know for what or for who just hoping there is something new to consider about this team.
That being said, the pure suffering of Celtics fans and the C's not making a deadline deal yesterday makes it move. Seriously, I could have put the wood to my steering wheel. I know we say some dumb poop on here but my god, that fan base is comprised 100% of invalids. It's glorious. |

I'm bored at work, so I'm going to start an argument...
Not really, but, I gotta believe that Boston does not trade Louie, simply due to the fact that they need to make the playoffs this year. For the owners, GM, and coach, that is the goal. That being said, we have to live with that. So if he does not get traded, are we going to be more pissed if he gets a 6.5 for 5 year contract come the summertime, or walk? Of course we prefer to have him traded now for something, but if that isn't an option, do we prefer biting the bullet and letting him walk, or signing him to a contract that MAY possibly put us in a tight position cap wise.
We don't want to tie up the money in middle aged players in order to give younger players contracts they deserve, but when those names are Bergeron, Eriksson, Marchand, and Krejci, I really don't believe it is a bad thing. Do we really think a 35 yr. old Beron or Marchand won't still be top 2 line talent? I would tend to believe so. And so once Pasta, Spooner, Vatrano, C. Miller etc. deserve the money, Chara, Seids, Hayes, Mcquaid, etc. will be gone. |

Assuming they hang on to him, I would be pissed if he got 6.5 for any contract length. 6@4yr would be really nice, but that is probably wishful thinking. It would suck to see him walk for nothing or trading his rights for a low round pick. With our luck though, he will get 5 years, and have 1 or 2 more decent years left, then fall off the map completely.
Not holding my breath on this situation. Could go any number of ways at this point. |

if they used that cap space for a good defenseman, I wouldn't care if he left. Be nice to get something this spring out of him on trade market though. |

I dont really care either, was more following along with the statement I quoted. Operating under the assumption he sticks around past the deadline.
At this point, anything that happens for the bruins would be nice. Some new news would be refreshing. |

This is on Sweeney. Vermette warranted a 1st last season's deadline and Chicago didn't even use him full time. I wish somebody would make a deal and begin setting the market. Maybe have a better view of what's realistic vs what my glue snif stee-lo tells me to say.
Real view...I dunoo

Just thought I would throw this up. It is LeBrun, so take with a grain of salt.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...al-players-trade-deadline
But I'm sure Sweeney and Neely will find a way to (frank) it all up. He will probably send him to chicago for a 2nd round pick and Bickell (no salary retained) |

Louie is having his best year as a Bruin, fact.
If the Bruins extended him for 6 mil per, and he continued 2016 production over the contract, it would be a solid deal for the Bruins. I just have to wonder what his production is like in 4 years of a 6 year 6 mil contract when he is mid 30's. I think it is risky to pay a guy that kind of money when the team has other glaring needs.
On the other hand, I can't remember the last time the Bruins were sellers at the deadline. It just isn't their style.

I think the teams saying they wont pay a 1st rounder for a rental are just trying to dictate the market before the deadline. I'm confident that some team would trade a 1st to get Loui if that's what the B's want. I'd rather package him to get a defensemen, but thats a separate issue. |

I fear the Bruins are on the path to be habitually mediocre. Not good enough to compete for the Cup and not bad enough to be in a position to draft sure fire prospects.
Buffalo, Florida and Toronto are all at different stages of building a successful program and the Bruins are caught between winning with our vets and growing with our prospects.
Seidenberg
Loui
Connolly
Hayes
McQuaid
Should all be available at this years trade deadline. |

Losing McQuaid and Seidenberg is losing our top two defensive Defensemen. Hayes isn't going to merit anything and Connolly has too much upside to give up on (and is also still too cheap to let go of).

I stand by my opinion to Trade Seidenberg and McQuaid. At least one of them. And Trotman. And Kevin Miller. And Chara for the right price. And Krug if he doesn't figure out how to hit the net. |
